Aadharpur Mob-lynching Victims Hold Press Conference


Girls from the minority community who were the victims in the brutal mob lynching incident in Aadharpur (Samastipur) held a press conference in Patna on 13 July 2021 to appeal to the Home Secretary of Bihar for justice. The press conference was organized under the auspices of AIPWA and was also attended by AIPWA General Secretary Meena Tiwari and State Secretary Shashi Yadav.

Rage and Mourn Fr Stan Swamy's Custodial Killing


CPIML stands with the poor and oppressed people of Jharkhand and the whole of India in rage and grief at the custodial killing of 84-year-old Jesuit social worker Fr Stan Swamy. The National Investigative Agency (NIA), acting as agent of Modi-Shah regime, has been arresting a series of India's leading human rights defenders in the "Bhima Koregaon case", and invoking the draconian UAPA law to imprison them indefinitely as undertrials by denying them bail. Fr Stan was arrested in this case.

The Forgotten Promise of 19 Lakh Jobs in Bihar!


Commenting on the Bihar government's announcement of Rs 5 lakhs subsidy and Rs 5 lakhs loan for women and youth, CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal said on 19 June 2021 that this cannot be an alternative to the 19 lakh regular jobs promised by the BJP-JDU during the last Assembly election. AICCTU Statement: In Solidarity with June 10 General Strike in Greece!


The working class and toiling masses of Greece will embark on an historic General Strike on June 10 against the anti-labour Bill proposed by the conservative New Democracy (ND) government. The Bill introduces several anti-worker measures, including increasing the working hours from 8 up to 10 hours per day,  scraping the five-day working week and curtailing the right to strike. The proposed bill is a barbaric attack on the rights of the workers, hard earned through long struggles.

Pay Compensation to Dependents Instead of Hiding Covid Deaths


CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal said on 31 May 2021 that the Bihar government should compile a list of all those who died of Covid and guarantee compensation payment of Rs 10 lakhs without delay to all the dependents. There are reports of 40-45 deaths from every village. Presently our party is enquiring into Covid deaths across the State and will soon submit a report to the government.

Wrong to Slap FIR on Striking Health Workers: CPIML

 

CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal said on 13 May 2021 that the FIR and orders for cancellation of contract and removal from work of health workers on strike in response to the call given by Bihar Health Contract Workers Association is wrong on the part of the government. He said that instead of issuing such repressive orders the government should immediately engage in talks with the striking health workers and find a solution.
