Bihar Government must Guarantee Adequate Supply of Urea


CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal has asked the Govt of Bihar to ensure the supply of required amounts of urea scarcity of which has created a panic situation in the state. In the current year Bihar has received less than 1 lakh metric tonnes of urea. Earlier, unseasonal rains rotted the paddy seeds, crops were damaged and so transplantation could not be done on time; then the floods came causing chaos across the state; and now the urea issue is causing problems.

An order by the Uttarakhand High Court imposing a Rs 10000 fine each on five environmental activists for a PIL filed by them, will serve to intimidate and deter any citizen from raising environmental and social concerns that conflict with the interests of corporate projects.
