CPIML Welcomes Jharkhand Gov Resolution for Domicile Policy Based on 1932

CPIML Jharkhand State Secretary Manoj Bhakt and MLA Vinod Singh welcomed the state cabinet resolution for Bills for a 1932-based domicile policy and expansion of reservation. The CPIML has demanded that these Bills should be presented and passed in the Assembly as soon as possible and that the Government of India should give its assent to them.

AIPWA Bihar State Conference

The 8th AIPWA state conference was held in Darbhanga under the supervision of Uttar Pradesh Secretary and Bihar observer Kusum Verma. The conference elected a 31-member executive and 9-member team of office bearers. Shashi Yadav and Saroj Chaube were elected Secretary and President respectively. The office bearer team comprised Manju Prakash, Damyanti Sinha, Savitri Devi, Indu Singh, Rani Prasad, and Sohila Gupta, Anita Sinha, Rita Barnawal and Juhi Mahbooba as Joint Secretaries.

AIPWA Organizes March against Inflation, Unemployment

On the occasion of the 8th AIPWA state conference, AIPWA organized a march in Darbhanga on 10 September, culminating in a meeting at Laheriyaserai Tower. The demands raised through the march were: curbing inflation; roll back GST on petrol, diesel, cooking gas and food items; high level enquiry into the Rajwada episode; release Pappu Khan and other innocent people and withdraw cases against them. The march was led by AIPWA leaders including Shashi Yadav and Saroj Chaube.

Anti-Repression Week in Uttar Pradesh

CPIML observed a protest week across Uttar Pradesh from 30 August to 5 September with the following demands: cancel remission of Bilkis Bano's convicted rapists and murderers; strict punishment for teacher who beat dalit student Indra Meghwal to death; arrest perpetrators of attacks on dalits in Hargaon (Sitapur) and punish police officers who slapped false cases on victims; release District Secretary Arjun Lal and others immediately.

Youth Protest in Allahabad against Corruption in Higher Education Commission

Applicants for posts in higher education department protested on 5 September against the rampant corruption in the Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission. A large number of people marched to the Commission offices and submitted a memorandum to the Governor via the Secretary of the Commission. The protest resonated with slogans demanding ending of corruption, high level enquiry into Advertisement No. 50, employment for youth, and accountability from the Yogi government.

Addressing a Citizens’ Convention against Communalism on the occasion of the 12th Patna District conference in Phulwari Sharif on 8 September 2022, CPIML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said that fascist forces like the BJP must be ousted not only from power but from society also. By following the path shown by Bihar, we can surely free the country of the BJP disaster in 2024.

Bulldozer Havoc on Homes of Poor Must End

CPIML legislative group leader Mahboob Alam said on 11 September that we have appealed repeatedly to the Chief Minister of the newly formed Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar that the bulldozer terror in Bihar should end, but that does not appear to be happening. Bulldozers are continuing to wreak havoc on the homes of the poor; the government is making no change in its actions, and CPIML can never accept this.
