Our Goal is to Oust BJP from Power as well as Society

Addressing a Citizens’ Convention against Communalism on the occasion of the 12th Patna District conference in Phulwari Sharif on 8 September 2022, CPIML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said that fascist forces like the BJP must be ousted not only from power but from society also. By following the path shown by Bihar, we can surely free the country of the BJP disaster in 2024.

Along with CPIML leaders, various Mahagathbandhan leaders also participated in this citizens' convention against communalism and pledged to ensure BJP's defeat in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. The speakers who addressed the convention, conducted by Phulwari Sharif MLA Gopal Ravidas, included Dhruv Yadav, Manoj Ji, Mohd Kausar, KD Yadav, Rameshwar Prasad, Meena Tiwari, Sandeep Saurav, Ramadhar Singh and Saroj Chaube.

Comrade Dipankar further said that he had a positive discussion with Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on opposition unity. The two-pronged opposition consisting of opposition parties on the one hand and on-the-street movements of various sections on the other will definitely succeed in wiping out the BJP in 2024. The BJP asks, who will be the PM face for the opposition? Our answer is that in a parliamentary democracy the people will vote for their MPs and the PM 'face' will emerge from among them. The important thing is to save democracy and the Constitution from the clutches of fascist forces like the BJP who are selling out the country's assets to the Adanis and Ambanis.

Comrade Dipankar said that the difference between the policies of the Bihar government should be clearly seen as being different from the previous regime in all matters like Bulldozer Raj, employment, education, MSP, MNREGA. The government should speak out not only against CBI raids but also NIA raids.

Other leaders who spoke stressed the need to fight against persecution of dalits and Muslims and targeting of Phulwari Sharif to defame it as a hub of terror.
