Comrade Charu Mazumdar Martyrdom Day Observed

On the occasion of the 52nd Anniversary of Comrade Charu Mazumdar's Martyrdom and 50th anniversary of Party Reorganisation, tributes were paid to martyrs and departed leaders and pledge was renewed to strengthen the party and prepare for a new phase of growth and expansion. The day was observed by garlanding his bust at Charu Bhawan, the party central office in Delhi. Newly elected CPIML MPs Rajaram Singh and Sudama Prasad also joined the party central staff in this commemoration.

INDIA Alliance Parties Protest at Jantar Mantar against Arvind Kejriwal’s Deteriorating Health and Continued Arrest

A protest was held at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi against the continued arrest of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and his deteriorating health in jail. This was addressed by many prominent leaders of INDIA bloc parties including Dipankar Bhattacharya, D Raja, Sitaram Yechuri, Akhilesh Yadav, Sharad Pawar, Gaurav Gogoi, Pramod Tiwary, Sunita Kejriwal, and many others.

TN Advocates’ Protest against New Criminal Laws in Delhi

Hundreds of advocates from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, under the banner of Joint Advocates Associations Action Committee (JAAC) of Tamil Nadu, held a protest against the new criminal laws at Jantar Mantar on 29 July.

CPIML MPs Comrade Sudama Prasad and Comrade Raja Ram Singh attended the protest and addressed the gathering expressing solidarity from CPIML with their struggle to withdraw the draconian criminal laws.

Rural Workers Rally in Patna for Social Security Pension and NREGA Wage Hike

Thousands of rural labour activists demonstrated in Patna under the banner of All India Agricultural and Rural Labour Association (AIARLA) demanding immediate implementation of Nitish Kumar's promise of ₹2,00,000 assistance for each of Bihar's 94 lakh families earning less than ₹6,000 per month, Social Security Pensions, NREGA wage hike and other demands on 25 July.

They also condemned Bihar government’s policy of Bulldozer raj of demolishing homes of the poor in the name of development schemes.

CPIML Launches Four-Month ‘Haq Do, Vaada Nibhaao’ Campaign in Bihar

CPI(ML) Liberation launched the ‘Haq Do, Vaada Nibhaao’ (Give us Our Rights, Fulfil Your Promises) campaign at a convention in Patna on July 16th, 2024. The campaign seeks a grant of Rs. 2 lakh to every poor family, land for the landless, pucca houses for all, 200 units of free electricity, MSP for farmers, demands of scheme workers, employment for youth, concerns of migrant workers, rural development, to uphold Indian Constitution and democracy, among other demands that affects the working class people in Bihar.

No to Eviction of Hawkers and Street Vendors in Kolkata

In the last week of June, an administrative review meeting by the Chief Minister of West Bengal mentioned the issues of Urban Development and ‘beautification’, encroachments throughout the city landscape, especially in Kolkata and in the adjacent suburbs. The day after the announcements, the police, administration and local authorities began organized crackdown on the street vendors and hawkers in different parts of the state.
