INDIA Alliance Parties Protest at Jantar Mantar against Arvind Kejriwal’s Deteriorating Health and Continued Arrest
A protest was held at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi against the continued arrest of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and his deteriorating health in jail. This was addressed by many prominent leaders of INDIA bloc parties including Dipankar Bhattacharya, D Raja, Sitaram Yechuri, Akhilesh Yadav, Sharad Pawar, Gaurav Gogoi, Pramod Tiwary, Sunita Kejriwal, and many others.
CPIML Gen Sec Dipankar Bhattacharya said that the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal is part of a political conspiracy by the central BJP government which has snatched away rights of the Delhi government through legislation by undermining the Supreme Court ruling. Three senior leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Satyender Jain have been arrested in an attempt to destabilise the elected government of Delhi throwing the capital city into a state of anarchy for which only the centre's Modi government is responsible. Even after getting bail in the ED case, the Modi government has pressed the CBI into service to keep Arvind Kejriwal in jail. The people of Delhi are paying a heavy price for the BJP's vendetta politics. There is absolute anarchy and the LG is exercising powers without any responsibility and accountability. He demanded immediate release of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. CPIML Members of Parliament comrades Raja Ram Singh and Sudama Prasad were also present in this rally along with Delhi state secretary Ravi Rai and Prabhat Kumar.
The Centre is obstructing Delhi government’s work in the national capital, also obstructing the investigation and action in the Rajinder Nagar coaching centre deaths. This is a conspiracy that the elected chief minister is in jail. Umar Khalid and many activists are also in jail on false charges in Delhi riots. In the Bhima Koregaon fake case, father Stan Swamy was arrested and died in jail. This is a huge conspiracy against leaders and activists. Comrade Dipankar added that six months ago when Arvind Kejriwal and Hemant Soren were arrested because Lok Sabha elections were there. Later Hemant Soren came out despite attempts to stop his bail. Kejriwal too was released for less than a month. Now he has been given bail he has been kept inside jail conspiratorially in another case filed by the CBI.
