The Uttarakhand State Committee meeting of the All India Central Council of Trade Unions (AICCTU) was held on September 15 in the Nagar Nigam Auditorium in Haldwani. The meeting saw key discussions regarding workers' and employees' rights and the state government's policies.

The meeting commenced with a one-minute silence in tribute to the sudden demise of CPI(M) General Secretary Com. Sitaram Yechury. The session was conducted by AICCTU State General Secretary Comrade K. Bora.

The brutal murder of CPIML leader Comrade Sunil Chandravanshi has sparked widespread protests and a district-wide bandh in Arwal, Bihar on September 11. The bandh received significant support from the public, with shops largely remaining closed.

A Patna (Naubatpur) resident Israfil Alam was legally transporting 28 cows along with 12 calves in a truck to a cattle fair on 4 September. He has a licence for cattle trade. His truck was stopped at Phulwari Sharif by a gang of Bajarang Dal goons already waiting there. These goons started pelting stones at the truck along with shouting of slogan Jai Shri Ram, then hijacked it and was taken to Tamtam Padav, from there all cattle were stolen by goons.

The Supreme Court has strongly criticised Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's decision to appoint a corruption tainted forest officer as the director of Rajaji Tiger Reserve. This officer was two years ago removed from his post of director of Corbett Tiger Reserve following a High Court order directing his removal and instituting inquiry against many corruption charges.

On August 30, the NIA conducted raids on the homes of democratic rights activists, lawyers, Farmer leaders, and student activists across nine locations in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. The targets included Advocate Mandeep (President AFDR Chandigarh/Mohali), Advocate Ajay Kumar (Democratic Rights Lawyer and Anti-Displacement Activist), Sukhwinder Kaur (General Secretary, Bharti Kisan Union Krantikari), Davinder Azad (Student Activist, Inquilabi Chhatar Morcha Allahabad), and Advocate Pankaj Tyagi (Renowned Lawyer, Sonipat).

On 23 August 2024, Aryan Mishra lost his life to a bullet shot on a highway near Palwal, Haryana. His fault: he could have been a Muslim and a “cow-smuggler”. This is as per the admission of his killers.

Guwahati, September 6, 2024 : The CPIML has demanded the resignation of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma as his stay in office will further endanger unity among people and political stability of the state. The party called for a protest in Guwahati which was attended by CPI(ML) State Secretary Bibek Das, Central Committee Member Balindra Saikia, All India Students' Union State President Subrat Talukdar, All Assam Progressive Women's Union State Secretary Mrinal Devi and Biplobi Yuva Sanstha State Leader S.K.

On the call of AICCTU, an all-India Protest Day was organised on 6th September demanding scrapping of UPS (Unified Pension Scheme) and NPS and restoration of OPS (Old Pension Scheme). Protest demonstrations were held at several places including Delhi, Patna, Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata, Allahabad, Lohardaga (Jharkhand).

The Ekta Rally – Unity Rally – on 9 September organised on the occasion of the merger of two prominent left parties in Jharkhand, CPIML Liberation and Marxist Coordination Committee (MCC), was concluded with a resolve to defeat BJP in the forthcoming elections in Jharkhand. The rally, held in Golf Grounds in Dhanbad, was attended by tens of thousands of people from across the state, making the city coloured red with flags and banners.

In South Odisha, particularly in the Andhra-Odisha border area, a longstanding land movement has been ongoing since the era of Comrade Nagbhushan Patnaik. The movement aims to secure  Tripathi Gamang. However, recent developments indicate a troubling pattern of false legal actions being used to dispossess these tribal communities.
