The 3rd AICCTU Uttarakhand state conference was organized with a pledge to stand firmly against the politics of communal polarization and intensify the struggle for rights, equality and dignity.

Hundreds of workers in the Venkosh Company in Patna which manufactures hydraulic jacks and is situated in the Pataliputra Industrial Area held a protest on 23 June at the Labour Office (Niyojan Bhavan) on Bailey Road.

A 4-member Union delegation comprising AICCTU State General Secretary RN Thakur, Union Vice President Ranvijay Kumar, AITUC General Secretary Ghaznafar Nawab and Venkosh Union General Secretary Surendra Yadav submitted a memorandum with the workers' demands to the Labour Commissioner.

Against Repeated Non-Payment of Wages and Vindictive Retrenchement

After non payment of wages for several months, JNU administration retrenches more than 150 sanitation and mess workers from 4 May.
The workers have not been paid their salary for last three months. The All India General Kamgar Union (affiliated to AICCTU), the union of the contractual workers in JNU intimated the JNU administration and the office of the labour commissioner about non payment of wages.

DTC Workers Unity Centre campaigned from 2-10 February among DTC workers on problems facing the workers and their betrayal by the Kejriwal government. The campaign ended on 10 February with a warning to the DTC management and the Delhi government. During the campaign posters were put up at all DTC depots and about 24 gate meetings were organized.

All India Agricultural and Rural Workers’ Association (AIARLA) national general secretary Dhirendra Jha informed of the constitution of the join national forum of agricultural workers organisations to intensify the struggles for wages, employment and against rural poverty. There has been a steep increase in rural poverty and unemployment due to the economy shattered by the Corona lockdown. Sustaining life has become very difficult for farm workers, dalits, adivasis and the poor. Spiralling costs and inflation have ruined their lives.

The Joint Platform of Central Trade Unions and Independent sectoral All India Federations and Associations has called for a countrywide 2-day General Strike on 23-24 February 2022 during  the budget session of the Parliament against the anti-people, anti-worker and anti-national destructive policies of the BJP Govt, with the slogan ‘Save The People, Save The Nation’.

Karnataka General Labour Union in Bangaluru has asked the administration for immediate measures to disburse the unpaid wages of the workers employed by Victoria Hospital.

The Building Workers Union organized protests on 30 November in front of the Delhi Chief Minister and Lt. Governor on construction workers' issues. It is to be noted that lakhs of construction workers are affected due to the 'Stop Work' imposed every year in the name of pollution control. These workers have nothing by way of economic-social security and the Delhi government's failure to make any policy in this regard is worsening the plight of the workers day by day.

A National Convention of Workers held on 11 November in New Delhi has called for a two-day countrywide General Strike, dates to be declared later, as part of the “SAVE THE PEOPLE AND SAVE THE NATION” being conducted by central trade unions and all India Federations of workers and employees.

The unions has called upon the workers to take the message down to the masses through intense action programmes in the states and districts, factory gates to make the two days General Strike a massive success.

Sanitation worker Ramsewak Ram who was critically injured due to brutal police beating in Samastipur died on the morning of 5 November at PMCH Patna. As soon as news of the death spread, there was uproar in the District and allegations against the police were rife.

CPIML termed the death of the sanitation worker due to police beating a tight slap in the face of the government that boasts of 'sushasan'. CPIML District Secretary Prof Umesh Kumar called for 6 November a Protest Day against police killing.
