Protest Demonstration

Darbhanga was shut down in a complete Bandh on 16 February at the call of the CPIML in protest against the burning alive of 3 people of the same family by the land mafia. The main demand was to register a case under 302 against the Darbhanga SSP and Thana in-charge, compensation for each member of the victim family, speedy arrest of land mafia Shiv Kumar Jha. The Bandh also raised the demand of speedy arrest of the perpetrators in another incident of rape and murder of 2 girls in Purkhopatti. The Bandh received full support from all opposition parties.

The Bihar Bandh called by AISA-RYA on 28 January was very effective across the State. Early in the morning hundreds of students led by AISA-RYA blocked the Saptakranti Express in Darbhanga. The Bandh got the support of all student-youth organizations bar those of BJP-JDU. The Mahagathbandhan parties also played an active role in the Bandh.

On 9 January Dombari Diwas, protests were organized across Bihar against corporate and RSS attacks on adivasi rights. Dombari Diwas was observed and protests held in response to the call given by the national level Adivasi Sangharsh Morcha formed at the initiative of the CPIML. After the partition of Bihar a considerable portion of the adivasi community went to Jharkhand but there is still a large presence in Districts such as Western Champaran, Kaimur, Jamui, Purnea. Protests were organized in these Districts under the Adivasi Sagharsh Morcha banner.

Institutional murder of 2nd year Mechanical Department student Sandeep Kumar has been perpetrated at the Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan Engineering College in Chhapra, Bihar.

RYA National President cum CPIML MLA from Agiaon Manoj Manzil, Jeeradei (Siwan) MLA Amarjeet Kushwaha and AISA-RYA leaders joined and supported the students who have been protesting in the campus for many days against this murder, for justice for Sandeep and for various other student demands.

Delhi: CPIML, AISA and AICCTU joined the Citizens protest at Uttarakhand Bhawan at Delhi demanding arrest of Yati Narsinghanad, Annapurna and all hate mongers of 'Dharm Sansad'.

CPIML organized a march amidst heavy police bandobast in Lucknow on 17 December to demand the sacking and arrest of Home MoS Ajay Mishra Teni in view of his role in the Tikunia massacre at Lakhimpur Kheeri. The march was led by State Secretary Sudhakar Yadav.

The protesters were stopped on the way by the police and amidst pushing and shoving by the police and slogans raised by the protesters against the Yogi and Modi governments, a meeting was held on the road.

A dharna was organized in front of the Ranchi Vidhan Sabha on 21 December 2021 on the issues of ASHA workers. The dharna was addressed by CPIML MLA Vinod Singh, former MLA from Nirsa Comrade Arup Chatterjee, AICCTU State General Secretary Comrade Shubhendu Sen, AIPWA State President Savita Singh, Jayanti Chaudhury, Poonam Mahto, Sarita Sah, Eti Tirkey, Nandita Bhattacharya and Sarita Mahto. At the conclusion of the dharna a 7-point memorandum was submitted to Health Minister of Jharkhand.

Adivasis in Jharkhand are opposing ongoing survey being done at the behest of the central government of lands of tribal, indigenous and local farmers without taking into account concerns of local people. The survey being done in Khunti district through drones is meant to undermine ownership or property rights of adivasis.

Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow has witnessed continuous protests in recent months--Kisan Panchayat on 22 November, workers' protest for repeal of 4 labour codes, midday meal workers' protests, protest for reinstatement of old pension scheme--and on 13 December ASHA workers gathered in large numbers for their demands.
