Left Parties Call to Take Pledge on Independence Day to Safeguard Constitution and Strengthen India’s Independence


The Left parties – Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist)-Liberation, Revolutionary Socialist Party and the All India Forward Bloc – have appealed to the people to take a pledge on Independence Day to safeguard our Constitution and strengthen India’s independence.

Comrade Balindra Saikia, Central Committee member of CPI(ML) and convener of the Assam unit of All India Kisan Mahasabha was arrested yesterday by Assam Police from his residence in Dibrugarh. Apart from being a prominent anti-CAA activist, Comrade Balindra has been leading a series of struggles for compensation for farmers who have lost land in a road construction project.

Noted anti-caste activist, Prof Hany Babu of Delhi University has been arrested by NIA in Maharashtra in the Bhima Koregaon Elgar Parishad case. CPIML demands from the Modi Government to immediately end repression against political activists and release Prof. Hany Babu and all political prisioners. DU academic Prof. Hany Babu is a consistent voice against caste oppression and discrimination.

Bihar in the Grip of Criminals: CPIML

CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal said in a Press statement on 12 July 2020 that feudal-criminals are dancing the dance of death and destruction across Bihar from Bhojpur to Siwan and are perpetrating lethal attacks on dalits and backward sections. During this Corona pandemic time when the common people are struggling to for life and livelihood, attacks by feudal criminals are consistently increasing. This is extremely perturbing. Instead of curbing such crimes, the Bihar government is busy with virtual rallies and digital campaigning.
