The All India Kisan Mahasabha has condemned in strong words the 8-hour long detention and interrogation of AIKM National Secretary and Editor of Viplavi Kisan Sandesh Comrade Purushottam Sharma by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police under the excuse of ‘investigation’ in Delhi riots case.
It is to be noted that the Delhi Police has registered a case under the draconian UAPA in connection with the NE Delhi riots. Now, in order to shield the BJP leaders who were the instigators and organizers of the riot, the police are hatching a conspiracy to implicate leaders of the anti-CAA-NRC protests in Delhi. These leaders are being named in the case because they had supported the anti-CAA protests. In the name of ‘investigation’, the Delhi police made Comrade Sharma sit at their Lodi Colony office for 8 hours.
This action by the Delhi police is a calculated and deliberate conspiracy to crush farmers’ and workers’ movements. Today farmers and workers are protesting across the country against the Modi government’s pro-corporate policies. Farmers’ and workers’ organizations are raising their voice in protest against these policies. In such a situation, the government wants to crush these agitations by implicating workers’ and farmers’ leaders in false cases.
AIKM demands that false cases imposed on the farmers, workers, student leaders, intellectuals and anti-CAA-NRC activists should be withdrawn and a case should be registered immediately against the real instigators and conspirators of the NE Delhi riots including BJP leaders Kapil Mishra, Pravesh Verma and Anurag Thakur.
