Free Varavara Rao -- Release All Political Prisoners

THE family of people’s poet and political activist Varavara Rao alerted the world to his severely deteriorating medical condition inside Mumbai’s Taloja jail. His family said that on a phone call from him, they realised that he is hallucinating, and a fellow-prisoner intimated that he was unable to walk, go to the toilet and brush his teeth on his own.

This information led to a public outcry, resulting in Varavara Rao’s eventual hospitalisation.

Ban on Sale of Loose Oil in Bihar is Anti-Poor

CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal said in a statement on 4 July 2020 that the decision to ban the sale of loose oil is an anti-poor decision. He pointed out that most people in the country are unable to buy oil tins because of poverty and financial straits. They somehow manage to buy 50g or 100g oil and manage their needs. This being the case, the government must consider how the poor will be able to run their households if sale of loose oil is banned.

BJP-JDU Government has Abdicated all Responsibility and is Conspiring to Steal the Bihar Election

CPIML Bihar State Secretary said in a statement on 2 July 2020 that the BJP-JDU government has abdicated all responsibility. Nitish Kumar had said that migrant workers would be provided work according to their skills and abilities inside Bihar itself. But nothing of the sort has happened. The government is neither getting Corona tests done; nor is it arranging for employment for migrant workers. Work is also unavailable in MNREGA.
