Women are the Backbone of Farmers' Struggle


Women will have a notable participation in the human chain called by the Mahagathbandhan on Martyrs' Day 30 January for repeal of the three black farm laws, legal status for MSP, reinstatement of APMC Act in Bihar and withdrawal of Electricity Bill 2020. Women will be part of the human chains across Bihar. AIPWA General Secretary Meena Tiwari said this at a press conference in Patna on 25 January. Also present at the press conference were AIPWA State President Saroj Chaube, Rita Barnawal, Sangeeta Singh, Madhuri Gupta and Afsha Jabeen.

Restart Riga Sugar Mill without Delay: CPIML


CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal has demanded from the Bihar government that it should restart the Riga sugar mill in Sitamarhi District without delay. In a statement from Patna on 18 January he said that the month of January is about to end but the cane crushing session has not even started. The mill remains shut. As a result about 40,000 cane farmers and 700 mill workers are facing a grave livelihood crisis.

CPIML Demands High Level Enquiry into Rupesh Singh Murder


CPIML Bihar State Secretary in a statement on 18 January in Patna demanded a high level enquiry into the much-talked about Rupesh Singh murder incident. He said that BJP and JDU are equally responsible for the growing crime rate in Bihar. There has been a sharp and rapid increase in the incidences of crime across Bihar including the capital Patna and it appears as if the Bihar government has surrendered in front of criminals.

Power-Hungry BJP Preys on Its Own Allies


CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal said in a statement on 30 December 2020 that the BJP is a power-hungry party which can stoop to any level for power. Buying Opposition MLAs with money and muscle power, intimidating and breaking parties is par for the course for the BJP. Through such undemocratic means BJP has toppled many non-BJP State governments and formed its own government. Grabbing power through conspiracy and murder of Constitutional norms is written into the BJP’s DNA.

Countrywide Chakka Jam and Farmers’ Dilli Chalo Rally in November


Farmers’ organizations across the country will organize a countrywide chakka jam on 5 November and a Dilli Chalo rally on 26-27 November 2020 against the Modi government’s 3 anti-farm legislations and the proposed electricity bill. Representatives of more than 400 farmers’ organizations across the country met to plan these programs at Rakabganj Gurudwara in Delhi including 250 organizations affiliated to AIKSCC, 150 organizations led by Balbir Rajewal, Joginder Ugraha-led Kisan Union as well as other farmers’ organizations.

CPIML Releases List of Candidates for Bihar Assembly Election


CPIML has declared its list of 19 candidates for the Bihar Assembly election. The announcement was made at a Press conference by Party General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya. Present at the Press conference were State Secretary Kunal, AIARLA General Secretary Dhirendra Jha, All India Kisan Mahasabha General Secretary Rajaram Singh and senior leader KD Yadav.
