CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal strongly condemned the attack by goons affiliated to Hindutva organizations on farmers sitting on dharna under the AIKSCC banner on 16 February at the Shaheed Khudiram Bose Memorial in Muzaffarpur. He said that these days organizations in Bihar associated with the BJP have become so bold that they indulge in naked goondaism. If the Bihar government has even a shred of respect for democratic processes all the attackers must be arrested immediately and such incidents must be stopped.

CPIML Politburo member Kunal said that the Party fully supports the 2-day countrywide strike on 15-16 March called by the United Forum of Bank Unions against the privatization of banks announced by the Central government in the current Budget session. CPIML stands in solidarity with their movement and demands a stop to privatization of banks.

The last six years of the Modi regime have been a relentless assault on civil liberties, the Constitution of India, and democracy. Speaking in Parliament on 8 February, Prime Minister Modi threw aside all pretence, and openly called protesters and dissenters "parasites".

This language, dehumanizing and demonizing protesting people, is the language of authoritarian despots the world over. It is the language that precedes genocide.

The first post-Covid budget of the Modi government makes no attempt to arrest and reverse the dangerous down slide of the economy, and provide immediate relief to the most affected sections of people who have lost jobs and suffered major erosion in income and livelihood. Instead, the budget follows the direction of transferring the burden of the crisis to the people while providing India's big corporations with increasing opportunities for wealth accumulation.

CPIML Bihar has condemned the new orders issued by the Bihar government to curb criticism on social media/internet against the government, Ministers, MPs, MLAs and government officials. Bihar CPIML Secretary termed it a conspiracy to end freedom of social media.
