The Jawaharlal Nehru University witnessed yet another incident of violence by the ABVP. On 22 August, ABVP goons barged into the Scholarship & Project (S&P) Section of the Ad Block and attacked the staff present there. Files containing information on scholarship disbursal of students were thrown here and there, computers were broken, and students' scholarship forms were misplaced and torn!

Daily Wage Workers’ Suicides on the Rise in Modi-raj

The latest report by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) - Accidental Deaths and Suicides in India - shows an alarming increase in the suicide rate among daily wage workers since 2014. According to the report, the suicide rate in 2014 among daily wagers, one of the most exploited categories among working class was 12 percent. In 2021, according to the date, this increased to 25.06 percent.

Roll Back Remission of Rapists and Murderers of Bilkis Bano Case

While Prime Minister Modi was making a speech on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Independence, the convicted rapists and murderers in the heinous Bilkis Bano case of 2002 in Gujarat were being released from the jail in Gujarat, causing shock and distress across the country. BJP people organized events at various places to welcome the remissioned convicts and honour them with garlanding, 'arati' and 'tilak'. This was an open and public demonstration of the BJP-RSS gang's extreme hatred towards women and Muslims.

AIPWA Condemns Release of Rapists-Murderers in Gujarat and Brutal Killing of Dalit Child in Rajasthan

AIPWA Bhilai organized a meeting at Shardapara on 18 August 2022 to condemn the beating to death of a dalit boy studying in Saraswati Shishu Mandir Rajasthan for drinking water from a pot meant for 'savarnas' and the release of the 11 criminals convicted and sentenced to life in the Bilkis Bano gang-rape case. A memorandum addressed to President Droupadi Murmu was submitted to Thana SO, Chhavani, Durg District.
