Adivasi Land Rights Restored After Long Struggle

In a victory to tribal population in Odisha’s Tarbada village, the government finally issued land patta to the adivasi families, who were thrown out of their lands. For 40 years, the adivasis in the Tarbada village were fighting for the right to their land.

Adivasi sanghrsh Morcha, under the leadership of Tirupati Gamango intervened in the issue and extended the solidarity with their struggle for land. From August 3rd, the movement was intensified and finally the government was forced to provide the land rights to the tribals in Tarbada village.
