Fact Finding Report

A CPIML enquiry team conducted a surprise inspection of Bihar's only mental hospital. After the inspection MLA Manoj Manzil said that the hospital is being ruined by the Nitish government. He added that if doctors and nurses are not appointed without delay in the hospital as per norms, the issue will be raised in the coming Assembly session.

The facts that came to light during the inspection are:

A CPIML-AIKM team visited Karama village in Chauparan Thana, Hazaribagh District, Jharkhand on 6 May to find out the facts behind the death on 28 April of a dalit man Chhakkan Bhuiyan who was brutally beaten by the police.

The enquiry team comprised All India Kisan Mahasabha State Secretary Puran Mahto, CPIML Hazaribagh District Committee members Sher Mohammed, Shekhar Rai and Khurshid Anwar Ansari.

A team led by Bihar Assembly Library Committee Chairman and CPIML MLA Sudama Prasad and comprising Paliganj MLA and Library Committee member Sandeep Saurav, and CPIML leaders Santosh Sahar, Abhyuday, Kamlesh Sharma and Kumar Parvez visited the Khudabakhsh Library on 10 April 2021 and took stock of the entire situation after concerns were raised in civil society following the government's decision to demolish the library's oldest building to make way for construction of the Kargil Chowk-NIT flyover.

Bihar is currently in the clutches of criminals to whom the Nitish government has abjectly surrendered. Heinous incidents like murder, crime, loot, rape have become the norm, whether it is the recent brutal killing of 4 persons in Madhubani or the police in Bhagalpur mercilessly beating a government employee to death.

A CPIML team visited Gondapur village in Maharajganj Thana on 16 March and spoke with the women injured in an incident of the police brutality as well as with other villagers.

A CPIML team visited Naugarh in Chandauli District and went to the spot where some people, with the intent of capturing land, sprayed poisonous pesticide over the wheat crop in 5 bighas of land belonging to a farmer family and where, instead of acting on the complaint given, the police illegally detained the victims in the Thana.

A 7-member CPIML team visited the site of the killing at Durjanpur in Ballia, UP and spoke with and consoled the family of Jayprakash Pal who was killed in the firing on 15 October 2020.

Keeping the Bihar Assembly election in mind, the BJP is vitiating the atmosphere of social harmony and escalating its attempts to create communal discord.

One such attempt was made on 13 August on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami in the name of immersion of the idol. A CPIML fact-finding team visited the site to enquire into the details of the incident.
