Nationwide Protests Demanding Arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan and Action Against Delhi Police

Countrywide protests were held on 1 June with the demand of arrest of BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh action against Delhi police for perpetrating atrocities on protesting women wrestlers at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Kisan Sangharsh Morcha, women’s and trade union organisations along with CPIML and other parties had given a call for protests which received a huge response in all the states and major centres.

Yogi’s Bulldozers Rampage Houses of Poor in Mirzapur CPIML Leaders Detained

6 June, Mirzapur. Uttar Pradesh.

Bulldozers demolished houses of three hundred poor families in Kotwa Pandey village near Mirzapur Sadar Tehsil without any alternative rehabilitation. People protesting with CPIML activists and leaders were arrested from the spot. The party has announced statewide protests against this atrocity on 8 June. 

Statue of Revolutionary Leader and former MLA Ramdev Verma Unveiled in Bihar

In a rich tribute to the revolutionary legacy of communist leader and former MLA Ramdev Verma, his statue was unveiled in his village Patelia of Samastipur District on his first memorial day on May 22.  The statue was unveiled by CPIML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya along with CPIML Central Committee member Manju Prakash (Com. Ramdev Verma’s partner), Bihar Minister Alok Mehta, several leaders of CPIML and other Mahagthbandhan parties were also present on this occasion.

Karnataka ITI Workers’ Struggle Clinch A Major Victory in Court

In a major victory to the workers of M/s ITI Ltd. and to their sustained struggle from 1st December, 2021 onwards (over 1 year and 5 months), the Karnataka High Court has passed order dated 18.04.2023 in W.P. No. 9465/2020 holding as binding on the ITI management the settlement arrived at between the Union and the Management as per which 35 workers would be immediately taken back to work, and the remaining 45 workers would be taken thereafter.

Protest Against Delhi NCCSA Ordinance

Calling the recent the Delhi NCCSA ordinance as Modi government’s vulgar pursuit of power, CPIML and other Left Parties organised a protest at Jantar Mantar on May 24.  On the evening of May 19, the Modi government in order to restore its hold on the Delhi legislature and its executive functioning has got the President of India to promulgate an Ordinance that effectively nullifies the Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench decision.

Campaign Continues in Siwan Against the Attack on the Legacy of Ambedkar

On 13 April, a concrete platform meant to install a Dr. Ambedkar statue next day, on his birth anniversary, in the Block administrative campus of Darauli in Siwan was demolished using bulldozer by the Block development officer himself. The installation of this platform and the statue was funded through the MLA development fund in Darauli and the whole process was duly sanctioned and approved by the administration in 2020-21 year with Rs. Ten lakhs allocated for the job.

Countrywide Solidarity with Wrestlers Protest at Jantar Mantar

On Tuesday, May 16, hundreds of women and farmers from Punjab, Haryana, UP and Bihar as part of national call by All India Progressive Women’s Association (AIPWA) and All India Kisan Mahasabha (AIKM) reached Jantar Mantar to stand in solidarity with the wrestlers protest for justice. For weeks, several Olympic medal winning wrestlers have been protesting demanding action against the BJP MP and WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for sexual harassment.

CPIML and MCC to Launch Campaign for Employment and Domicile Policy

A joint meeting of CPIML and MCC (Marxist Coordination Committee) was held on 7th May, 2023 at the Nirsa office of MCC. Com. Janardan Prasad, CPIML polit bureau member presided over the meeting.
