Eviction Orders for Hundreds of Maha-Dalit and Adivasi Families in Bihar Opposed

The Araria district administration in Bihar has issued eviction notices to hundreds of Adivasi and Maha-dalit families. About 500 families have been residing for a very long time in Belgachhi village of Raniganj block who are now facing eviction threat thanks to the callousness of the state government. While opposing this move CPIML MLA from Sikta Virendra Prasad Gupta visited this village on 16 May along with a team of party leaders to express solidarity with the affected people.

Stop the Eviction of Footpath Vendors in the Name of Smart City

Hundreds of footpath vendors gathered on 3 May, 2023 in Patna at Paya No. 6 near the Railway station to register their protest against the ongoing process to evict them from the state capital Patna in the name of Smart City Mission. They were led by Com. Mehboob Alam, the leader of CPI(ML) in the State Legislative Assembly. While addressing the gathering, Com Mehboob said that since the Mahagathbandan government is being supported by our party, there is no reason why even a single vendor should be evicted.

Joshimath: Amid Continuing Land Subsidence Dhami Govt Asks Residents to Return to Their Unsafe Houses

The land subsidence in Joshimath town in Uttarakhand continues. In January the houses that were found unsafe for living were marked as unsafe on the recommendation of the Central Building Research Institute were vacated. The affected resident families were moved, on government expenses, in temporary arrangements like hotels and community houses. People have been living in these rehabilitation camps since then, though under very inconvenient conditions. Then people were forced to move into these makeshift camps, even police were used in some instances.

CPIML, Tamilnadu unit, received an information that five labourers (3 female and 2 male) along with their 2 young children are treated as bonded labourers, since March 8, 2023, in Ambasamudram Village, Usilambatti Taluk of Madurai District in Tamilnadu. They hail from Beed and Parbani districts of Maharashtra. Anna Gidve is the contractor from Maharashtra who treated them as slaves. This arrogant contractor is associated with Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party.
