Thousands of people marched in Ballia on 26 June, the anti-Emergency day, to take pledge against strengthening the ongoing peoples struggles against the undeclared emergency of Modi regime in the country. CPIML central committee member Shriram Chaudhary addressed the marchers who had assembled at the bus stand and said that the people of Ballia had been in the forefront of the struggles against the autocratic regimes in the past and today again they are prepared for the struggle against the fascist forces.

Ten CPIML activists were arrested including Com. Haidar at Silchar on 27 June while they were picketing peacefully to protest against communally motivated delimitation draft recently published by Election Commission of India. The Bandh was called by the opposition parties in the Barak Valley against the delimitation draft report.

The Mahagathbandhan parties in Bihar jointly held protests on 15 June at block and panchayat level against BJP attempts of dividing the society on communal lines and Modi government’s attacks on rights and livelihoods of common people. These demonstrations and sit-ins were organised on the occasion of completion of nine years of Modi’s rule which have caused immense troubles and pains for the common citizens.

Women’s organisations organised a Mahila Panchayant on June 14 at Delhi’s Constitutional Club in solidarity with the Wrestlers Protest. Lambasting the patronage and impunity given by Modi government to ex-WFI chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, accused in sexual harassment case, the Mahila panchayat said that the struggle for justice for wrestlers will intensify.

On 16 June, at 6 AM, a large police contingent along with Rapid Action Force (RAF) and bulldozers besieged Priyanka Gandhi Camp, a working class colony in South Delhi. About a hundred families who were staying in the area for decades were rendered homeless in minutes - forced to live under the open sky, and without access to food, water, toilet or electricity. The demolition was carried out on the pretext that land was allotted for NDRF headquarters.

The ASHA workers and facilitators in Bihar have given a notice of indefinite strike from 12 July for fulfilment of their 9-point demand charter which includes long pending demands some of them have already agreed upon by the state government in the past but not been implemented. The ASHA Samyukt Sangharsh Manch leader Shashi Yadav said in a statement that strike notices are being served at district levels in the whole of Bihar and on 22 June a protest day is called to hold demonstrations at all primary health centres in all districts.

The two day state conference of CPIML concluded in Jaipur on June 9 with the clarion call to strengthen the mass movements on the basic questions of lives and livelihood and ensure defeat of Sangh-BJP in upcoming elections in Rajasthan. A 25 member state committee was elected with Com. Shankarlal Chowdhary as the new state secretary.

Insaf Manch held its conference in Patna on 11 June with a resolve to resist the communal fascist forces and to fight for the rights of all weaker and deprived sections of society including minorities, dalits and women. The conference elected Galib as its President and Ramlakhan Chaudhary as Secretary.

A CPIML-AIARLA team visited many affected families in Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur and Darbhanga districts of Bihar whose kin died or are still missing in the Balasore train accident. Dhirendra Jha, General Secretary of All India Agricultural and Rural Workers’ Association, informed that so far according to reports from the ground seventeen bodies of migrant workers from Bihar have been identified while around fifty persons are still missing or unidentified.
