AISA – RYA Workshop at Vijayawada

AISA – RYA State level workshop was held on 23 August, 2024 at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. State President Vemanna, State Secretary Nagaraju, State Leaders Anil, Nagarjuna, Sarayu, Devi, K Nageswara Rao, Lova Kumar were part of the Presidium.

The CPIML State Secretary B Bangarrao delivered the inaugural speech and emphasised on countering the communal forces under the BJP in the state should be nipped in the bud.

Comrade Uday Kiran, explained the political ideology and tasks of AISA and other student unions. P.S. Ajay Kumar explained the problems of students in tribal areas. He called for launching a campaign to address tribal students' issues.

More than 125 students and youth from all the districts attended this workshop. It was decided to collect one lakh signatures of students to register their protest against NEP and for a State Education Policy (SEP). A memorandum will be submitted to the state government on student issues, emphasising on "Not just Super Six (Chandrababu Guarantees) but Students’ Six and Youths’ Six (Demands)."

"Chalo State Assembly - Chalo Vijayawada" on students' issues will be held at Vijayawada during the winter session of the state Assembly. The rally will focus on "NO to NEP!, YES to SEP! The students will also demand the Chandrababu government to pass a resolution against NEP in the assembly.

It was decided that a state convention will be held at an appropriate time against pro-corporate education policies of the Modi-Naidu government.

CPIML Politburo member V. Shankar spoke about the fascist danger and the importance of students - youth movement to counter the fascist forces.
