The eighth UP state conference of RYA held on 10 March 2024 at Nehru Yuva Kendra in Lucknow elected Thakur Prasad as President and Sunil Maurya as Secretary. The conference underlined the need for a united struggle of youth in the state against Yogi government’s Bulldozer-raj and high unemployment, attacks on reservations, crimes against women and question paper leaks in competitive examinations.
The conference was inaugurated by Comrade Sudhakar Yadav, State Secretary of CPIML. He said governments are betraying the youth by taking away employment opportunities to benefit the corporates like Ambani and Adani. We must fight back and oust this divisive regime of hatred, deceit and lies.
Niraj Kumar, General Secretary of RYA said that human rights and voices of opposition are being strangled under the double engine regime of Modi and Yogi. The democratic institutions are demolished. He condemned the recent incident of paper leak in RO/ARO examinations. The ex-president of Allahabad university students’ union Lal Bahadur Singh described in detail about the history of the youth movement and demanded to make right to employment a fundamental right. Prof. Imran Khan said that RYA will unite the youth of the country against the anti-youth policies of the government.
AIPWA leader Kusum Verma said the government is the reason behind increased atrocities against women in the state and youth must come forward to intensify the struggle against such a government. President of AISA in UP Manish Kumar also addressed the conference.
The conference called for ousting BJP from the seat of power in the next Lok Sabha elections. The resolutions passed by the conference included the demands of resignation of the Yogi government for its failures in RO/ARO, police recruitments, reservation scam in 69000 teachers recruitment and for not advertising new teachers’ posts.
The conference condemned the incident of attack by a policeman on muslims offering Namaz in Delhi and heinous incident of a gangrape and suicides in Kanpur.
1st State Conference of Bhagat Singh Brigade in Maharashtra
The state conference of Bhagat Singh Brigade, an affiliate organisation of RYA, was concluded on 7 March at Shrirampur in Ahmad Nagar district with the call of Oust BJP, Save India and a resolve to conduct a mass contact programme against Modi government’s anti-people policies before the general elections.
The conference elected Jivan Surude as general secretary and Satish Sarvgude as president with a 17-member state council.
The Conference was addressed by Niraj Kumar, AICCTU Vice President Uday Bhatt and Atul Dighe of Lal Nishan Party Leninist.
