Protest in Ballia against Undeclared emergency

Thousands of people marched in Ballia on 26 June, the anti-Emergency day, to take pledge against strengthening the ongoing peoples struggles against the undeclared emergency of Modi regime in the country. CPIML central committee member Shriram Chaudhary addressed the marchers who had assembled at the bus stand and said that the people of Ballia had been in the forefront of the struggles against the autocratic regimes in the past and today again they are prepared for the struggle against the fascist forces.

Homes of Poor Razed to Ground in Delhi

On 16 June, at 6 AM, a large police contingent along with Rapid Action Force (RAF) and bulldozers besieged Priyanka Gandhi Camp, a working class colony in South Delhi. About a hundred families who were staying in the area for decades were rendered homeless in minutes - forced to live under the open sky, and without access to food, water, toilet or electricity. The demolition was carried out on the pretext that land was allotted for NDRF headquarters.

Bihar ASHA Workers Call For Indefinite Strike

The ASHA workers and facilitators in Bihar have given a notice of indefinite strike from 12 July for fulfilment of their 9-point demand charter which includes long pending demands some of them have already agreed upon by the state government in the past but not been implemented. The ASHA Samyukt Sangharsh Manch leader Shashi Yadav said in a statement that strike notices are being served at district levels in the whole of Bihar and on 22 June a protest day is called to hold demonstrations at all primary health centres in all districts.

CPIML-AIARLA Team Visits Balasore Train Accident Affected Families in Bihar

A CPIML-AIARLA team visited many affected families in Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur and Darbhanga districts of Bihar whose kin died or are still missing in the Balasore train accident. Dhirendra Jha, General Secretary of All India Agricultural and Rural Workers’ Association, informed that so far according to reports from the ground seventeen bodies of migrant workers from Bihar have been identified while around fifty persons are still missing or unidentified.
