CPIML – AIPWA Fact-Finding Team Visits Pulwari, Demands Immediate Arrest of Perpetrators in Gangrape of Two Mahadalit Girls Case

A CPI(ML) Liberation – AIPWA fact-finding team visited Hinduni Village in Bihar’s Phulwari on January 10th, 2024 in regard to the incident of gangrape of two Mahadalit minor girls. In the incident, which happened on January 8th, one girl was found murdered and another is battling for her life in AIIMS Patna. The fact-finding headed by CPIML Politburo member and AIPWA General Secretary Com. Meena Tiwari said that there had been criminal negligence on the part of the police and local administration.

Rural Workers Rally in Punjab Condemns Modi Govt’s Attack on MGNREGA

Thousands of rural workers filled the streets in Punjab’s Sangrur on January 5th, 2023 against Modi government and its anti-labour policies. The rally, organised under the banner of CPI(ML) Liberation and Mazdoor Mukti Morcha, condemned the recent move by BJP-Modi government at the centre to link MGNREGA job card with Aadhaar-based payment system and deletion of job cards of around 8.9 crore workers as an assault on the poor and toiling masses. 

CPIML and Anganwadi Workers Movement Forces Bihar Govt to Reverse Deregistering of 18220 Workers

In a victory to the Anganwadi workers in Bihar, the state government has ensured withdrawal of its order to deregister 18,220 Anganwadi workers and assistants. During the strike action by Anganwadi workers and assistants across Bihar, under the banner of Bihar Rajya Anganwadi Workers Union (AICCTU & Gope faction), the state government had moved to deregister large number of workers and assistants. 

Unlawful Curbing of Legitimate Protest of Blinkit Gig Workers

Condemning the recent events involving the unjust reduction of wages for gig workers associated with Blinkit, a Zomato-affiliated enterprise, the App Karmachari Ekta Union (AKEU) affiliated to AICCTU in a statement issued on January 9th, 2024 have expressed their solidarity with gig workers’ struggle for rights and their lawful pursuit of fair compensation. Under the constitutional purview of Article 14, Article 19, and Article 21, the right to fair wages is guaranteed, and any unjust curtailment of these rights deserves swift redressal rather than repression.

Construction Workers Rise in Protest in Bihar Against The Conspiracy to Cancel The Registration

On December 30, hundreds of construction workers under the banner of the Bihar Rajya Construction Workers Union and AICCTU protested against the conspiracy of the Labor Department and the Construction Workers Welfare Board to cancel their registration. The protest also condemned the attempt by Modi-BJP regime to dilute the construction workers welfare boards across the country. 

Memorial Meeting of Comrade Meena Rai held in Allahabad

On 17 December, a memorial meeting for Comrade Meena Rai, Managing Editor of Janmat, was organized at Anjuman-e-Rooh-e-Adab, Allahabad. The event showcased the vibrant life of Comrade Meena Rai, who was a friend, mentor and comrade to many young activists. On one side of the venue there was a book stall and on the other side, excerpts from her incomplete autobiography ‘Samar na jite koi' along with various photographs of her. The memorial event cherished her life and work that continues to be an inspiration and strength for all.

AISA organized Right to Education Convention in Patna

AISA organized Right to Education convention in IMA Hall, Patna on Dec 23, 2023 which was addressed by prominent intellectuals and academicians along with leaders of AISA and MLA Sandeep Saurabh. Political resolution was passed in which Modi govt was indicted for destroying and damaging public education and institutions & denying dignified jobs for youths. 

The convention was organized on the occasion of State Conference of AISA in Bihar. Two-day 15th state conference of AISA was concluded on December 24, 2023 in Patna.
