CPI(ML) Calls for Immediate Arrest of the Accused in Murder of Dalit girl in Kaimur

CPI(ML) Bihar State Secretary Kunal has demanded immediate arrest of the accused in case of murder of 14-year-old dalit girl Sundari Kumari on December 20 in Chainpur Nagar Panchayat in Kaimur district of Bihar. A Fact finding team headed by District Secretary Vijay Yadav found that Sundari Kumari was murdered by 50-year-old Ramavatar Yadav, a influential farmer who is known for being a bully and goonda. The accused brutally assaulted Sundari and her classmate for plucking green gram leaves from his farm.

Compensation to Tata Motors for the abandoned Singur project is a cruel injustice to the people of West Bengal

Tata Motors claims that a three-member tribunal has awarded it a compensation of Rs 765.68 crore with 11% interest per annum calculated from September 1, 2016 till the time of recovery for the aborted and abandoned Nano factory project of Singur. The money is to be recovered from the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC).

Activists Expressing Solidarity with Palestinian People Detained in Jammu

CPIML strongly condemns the detention in Jammu of more than 30 activists of civil society organisations, trade unions and CPIML including party’s Jammu district secretary Subhash Mehta in 20 November late night to stop them from assembling in a demonstration on 21 October which was organised to express solidarity with the Palestinian people. Subhash Mehta (a septuagenarian) and others were forcibly taken from their homes to the police station in the dark of night. Com. Nirdosh Uppal, Central committee member of CPIML was put under house arrest.

Condemn Persecution and Arrest of SR Darapuri by UP Police

Dalit thinker, activist and ex-IG Police SR Darapuri, Shravan Kumar Nirala of Ambedkar Jan Morcha and writer-journalist Dr. Ramu Siddharth were arrested in Gorakhpur on October 10 where they attended a protest demonstration for land rights to the landless organised by Ambedkar Jan Morcha. Withdraw Criminal Proceedings against Arundhati Roy

This is outrageous and shocking to persecute writer- activist Arundhati Roy on a 13 year old FIR along with an academician from Kashmir. This is intolerance exhibited by the State and smacks of vendetta. At that time police did not think the speeches meritted any prosecution for sedition. How come suddenly it attracts criminal proceedings? This looks to be an afterthought, that too, in the wake of recent arrests of the Editor in chief of NewsClick under anti-terrorism law and other penal provisions. Letter of Solidarity with People of Palestine

CPIML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, CC member Prabhat Kumar and N Sai Balaji met the Palestinian Ambassador to India H.E. Mr. Adnan Abu Alhaija on 16 October. They handed him over a letter expressing CPIML's solidarity with the people of Palestine and their struggle for liberation. The party conveyed its “deepest solidarity to the people of Palestine, who are currently facing a genocide in Gaza at the hands of the settler colonial apartheid state of Israel.
