Seminar on Fascism: The World's Experience and its Indian Characteristics

CPIML organised a seminar on 'Fascism: The World's Experience and its Indian Characteristics' in Chandigarh on 23 January. Com Dipankar Bhattacharya, General Secretary of CPIML, addressed the seminar as the keynote speaker. The seminar was presided over by Purushottam Sharma, Sukhdarshan Singh Natt, Ruldu Singh Mansa, Bhagwant Singh Samao and Satish Kumar and coordinated by Kanwaljit, secretary of the Chandigarh unit of CPIML.

Protest Across Uttarakhand against Govt. Apathy towards Joshimath tragedy

On 19 January, statewide protest demonstrations were held across Uttarakhand on the call of CPIML in solidarity with the struggling people of Joshimath. Addressing the protest in Haldwani, CPIML State Secretary Raja Bahuguna said, 'Uttarakhand's historic Joshimath Nagar is undergoing an unprecedented crisis. First the state government ignored the crisis and now it's trying to hide the truth by banning information like the recent ISRO data on land subsidence rate.

220 Days and Counting: Zydus Workers' Struggle for Justice

1200 hundred workers of Zydus Wellness company under the banner of Zydus Wellness Employees Union (AICCTU) have been protesting for more than 220 days against the illegal lockout at company's Sitarganj (Uttarakhand) production facility in the state.

Zydus Wellness is an Indian consumer goods company and produces household goods like Glucon-D, Sugar Free, Complan and Nycil. The unit was closed by the company in the name of 'manufacturing and supply chain network optimisation exercise', leaving hundreds of workers out of job.

Delhi Welcomes Aleida Guevara

A Public Reception was organised on 24 January at HKS Bhawan, Delhi welcoming Aleida Guevara, daughter of Che Guevara and her daughter Estefania Guevara who had been touring India for the last couple of weeks. Among the people who addressed the gathering were Dipankar Bhattacharya, General Secretary, CPIML, Sitaram Yechury, CPM General Secretary, D Raja, CPI General Secretary, Manoj Jha, MP and leader RJD, Alejandro Simancas, Cuba Ambassador to India and intellectuals, teachers and others from Delhi.

CPIML Party Congress to be held in Patna on 15-20 February 2023

The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation will hold its 11th Congress on 15-20 February in Patna (Bihar). This Congress will be preceded by a national ‘Save Democracy - Save India’ rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on 15 February. It is expected that lakhs of rural poor, farmers, women, students, youth and members of the working class including Scheme workers from Bihar and other states will take part in this rally.

Bihar: Candidates Lathi-charged for Protesting BSSC Exam Papers Leak

The CPIML has condemned the police atrocities let loose on BSSC aspirants in Patna on 4 January when they were protesting paper leak reports during entrance examination. This was not the first time when papers were leaked, on the contrary almost every examination held by the government agencies for the purpose of filling vacancies has seen paper lead reports.

Displacements of Poor and Atrocities on Dalits in Bihar

The meeting of the legislative committee on Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes held its meeting on 4 January which was presided by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. The meeting was attended by CPIML MLAs Satydev Ram, Gopal Ravidas and Manoj Manzil who raised the bulldozing of houses and shanties of the poor in the name of Jal Jeevan Hariyali Scheme in different districts of Bihar.
