First National Conference All India Scheme Workers’ Federation Calls for United Struggle Against Exploitation

The first national conference of All India Scheme Workers Federation (AISWF) organized in Patna on September 09 and 10 resolved to intensify their struggle for their rights and dignity. The conference also called for a united struggle against the anti-worker policies and demanded status of government employees for all scheme workers.

Curtailment of Gram Panchayat's Rights is Attack on Democracy

In a meeting with the delegation of of Bihar Pradesh Mukhya Mahasanghan on August 31 in Patna, CPIML State Secretary Kunal  and Patna Gramin Secretary Amar condemned the attack on the rights of Gram Panchayats by the Central and the state governments and termed the move as against the basic concept of democracy. He said that in idea of Swaraj, Gandhi had considered villages as the center of democracy and it’s shameful that we are today witnessing increasing attack on the rights under panchayat raj.

Adivasi Women Rise Up in Protest in Assam's Silsako!

On September 1, hundreds of Adivasi women protested in Assam's largest city Guwahati against a demolition drive on poor living in Silsako Beel (lake) area. Rural Workers Rally against Punjab Govt’s Betrayal of Promises

Thousands of Workers under the banner of Mazdoor Mukti Morcha marched at Mansa in Punjab against the AAP government’s betrayal of promises made during elections. Major demands were to fulfil the promise of payment of Rs 1000 per month to women. The speakers addressing the gathering narrated that the Man Sarkar has betrayed the promises made to the poor and downtrodden of Punjab. The promises of monthly honorarium to women and compensation to flood displaced has become a mockery.

Workers and Farmers Joint Convention in Delhi

In an unprecedented display of unity and resolve thousands of farmers and workers gathered at the Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi on 24 August in the national convention called jointly by Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) and Platform of Central Trade Unions/Federations. The convention pledged to intensify the struggle further against the devastating pro-corporate policies of the Modi government which are threatening the country's economy and attacking democratic constitutional framework.

Rural Workers’ Protest in Dibrugarh

A large number of rural poor marched through the streets of Dibrugarh town to the District commissioner's office under the banner of Panitola Block Committee of Sadou Asom Grameen Shramik Santha to press for demands like enhancement in wages and work-days in MGNREGA, right to housing as constitutional right, pension of ₹.3000 per month to all aged people and widows, protection of Adivasis and dalit rights, no bulldozing the houses of poor and in minimum wage rates.
