CPIML GS visits Flood Affected Areas in Bihar, Lambast JDU-BJP Govt for Lackadaisical Attitude

The midnight of 28 September marked the onset of yet another largely man-made disaster in Bihar. The Kosi embankment near Bhubhaul village of Kiratpur block of Darbhanga broke down on that fateful night and literally opened the floodgates. In no time at least eight villages - Tatwara, Tetri, Jagso, Bhubhaul, Jamalpur, Narkatia, Musaharia, Khaisa - came under water. Hundreds of huts and even pucca houses bore the brunt of the fury of the second major Koshi flood since 2007.

Palestine Solidarity Day Organised Across the Country

On October 7, 2024, as the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza entered its second year, Palestine Solidarity meetings and marches were held across the country expressing their strong solidarity with the people of Palestine and their struggle for Liberation. The Left Parties in India, including CPI(ML) Liberation, CPI(M) and CPI among others had issued a joint statement to observe October 7 as day of solidarity with Palestinians, calling for Immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

Protest Against State Repression in UP

On October 8, 2024, CPIML Liberation held state-wide protests in the Uttar Pradesh against police repression, demanding the revocation of the Zilabadar order (banishment from District/ Externment Order) issued by District Magistrate against Comrade Arjun Lal, a CPIML District Council member from Sitapur. The protest also called for the release of Ramdaras, a farmer leader from Lakhimpur Kheri.

Left Parties Protest in Solidarity with Samsung Workers Strike in Chennai

On October 5, 2024, CPIM, CPI and CPI(ML) Liberation held a solidarity protest in Chennai supporting the workers of Samsung who are on strike demanding recognition of their union, wage revision and regulated working hours. The strike, which began on September 9, 2024, involved over 1,100 employees from Samsung's manufacturing unit in Sriperumbudur.

AISA Demands Revocation of Suspension Order Issued Against BHU Students

In a statement issued on October 3, 2024, AISA condemned the unilateral suspension of 13 students at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU). These students are among those who dared to demand justice for the IIT-BHU gang-rape survivor. This is nothing, but an attempt to crush dissent and silence those who raised their voice for gender justice. The perpetrators, linked with the BJP, are roaming free and campaigning for their party, whereas those who protested for women’s safety are being shamefully castigated by the BHU administration.

AILAJ Condemns Bigoted Observation Passed By Judicial Officer Shri Ravi Kumar Diwakar

In a statement, All India Lawyers Association for Justice (AILAJ) said that Shri Ravi Kumar Diwakar, a Judicial Officer from Uttar Pradesh, who rose to fame for his infamous Order dated 05.03.2024 where he made numerous prejudicial, and bigoted statements, including that the head of the state must be a religious person has once again made news with his comments on the Muslim community.

AIPWA Public Hearing in Kolkata for Gender Justice

A public hearing titled Amader Katha (Our Voice) was organised by All India Progressive Women's Association (AIPWA) in Kolkata, amplifying the call for Justice for RGKar, demanding justice in brutal rape and murder of an on-duty doctor at R. G. Kar Medical College & Hospital. The horrific incident has ignited a mass movement in West Bengal, with people demanding urgent reforms to ensure workplace safety, dignity, and equal rights for women and marginalised genders.

Thousands Protest at Patna Sadar Office : "Haq Do, Vada Nibhao” Campaign

As part CPIML’s "Haq Do, Vada Nibhao" (Fulfil Promises, Give Rights) campaign, thousands of poor and marginalised people gathered at the Patna Sadar Office on September 28 to demand for income certificates and providing housing land to poor households. The income certificate is required for the application for the government's small entrepreneur scheme, which promises financial assistance of Rs. 2 lakhs to families earning less than Rs. 72,000 annually.

CPIML Stands in Solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk and Ladakh Climate Marchers, Condemns Police Detention

CPIML has expressed its solidarity with climate justice activists from Ladakh, including prominent leaders Sonam Wangchuk and Sajjad Kargili, who were detained by Delhi Police on October 1 while en route to a planned march at Rajghat on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

The peaceful march, which aimed to highlight the urgent climate issues facing Ladakh and demand rights for its residents, including Ladakh to be brought in the 6th Schedule of the Constitution, was abruptly halted at the Singhu Border by police forces.
