Peasants Jam National Highway in Bareilly

THOUSANDS of peasants agitated by grabbing of their agricultural lands for the national highway and a bypass in Bareilly are sitting on a protest dharna with the demand of appropriate compensation on 25 January. Their lands were captured five years ago, now a road has been built while their fight for the compensation still goes on. Led by AIKM leader Afroz Alam nearly two dozen peasants, men and women, started a fast unto death on 29 January and on the following day the highway was jammed by thousands of villagers in their support.

CPI(ML) Protest on Killing of a Worker from Bihar in Gujarat

RECENTLY a worker in Gujarat from Bihar, Nemulal Paswan was brutally beaten till death. Nemulal was a resident of Panditpur village in Barhara block in Bhojpur district. His body was brought back to Ara, after which a protest was held demanding immediate action against the guilty who had brutally beaten him to death. The Ara-Patna highway was blocked by protestors led by CPI(ML) from Tarari Sudama Prasad, CPI(ML) CC members Manoj Manzil, Raju Yadav and several other leaders.

Mahadharna against Displacement of Slum Dwellers in Patna

A massive dharna was jointly called by CPI(ML), Kanhaiyanagar, Isopur, Naharpura, Ambedkarnagar Jhuggi-Jhopdi Sangh Sangarsh Samiti (Slum hut-union struggle committee) Phulwarisharif on 3 January in Gardanibagh, Patna in front of the magistrate. They fervently opposed the attempts and machinations to displace the poor who have built their homes in these areas and have been residing for many years now. Hundreds of people participated in this mahadharna organized under the leadership of CPI(ML) leader Com. Sadhusharan.

Protest Against The Changing Of Name Of Mughalsarai Railway Station

The autocratic BJP government has changed the name of the centuries-old historically important Mughalsarai Railway Station to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction. The leaders who came for the name change function including BJP President Amit Shah, CM Yogi Adityanath, Rail Minister Piyush Goyal, Keshav Prasad Maurya along with dozen other leaders, faced angry protests by the people. Activists from several organizations showed black flags and held protests and road blocks.

Bihar Bandh by Left Parties against Muzaffarpur Gang Rape Incident

The Bihar bandh called by Left parties on 2 August 2018 against the rape and sexual violence at the Muzaffarpur Girls Home and many other places in Bihar nurtured and protected by the ruling powers, was had a massive impact. Widespread effect of the bandh was seen at Patna, Shahabad, Siwan, Jehanabad, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Arwal, Gaya, Katihar, Nawada and other districts. In Patna a joint march of the CPI (ML), CPI, CPI-M, SUCI (C), RSP and Forward Bloc started from the South Gate of Gandhi Maidan.
