CPIML candidates from Karakat, Nalanda and Arrah for Lok Sabha and one Assembly bye-election in Agiaon have filed their nominations. Mass meetings held on these occasions witnessed massive participation of people from respective constituencies.
On May 8, 2024, a massive public meeting of several thousand people was held in the Karakat Lok Sabha seat of Bihar on the day that INDIA-CPI(ML) candidate Rajaram Singh filled his nomination form for the seat. Rajaram Singh is Polit Bureau Member of the CPI(ML), General Secretary of the All India Kisan Mahasabha (AIKM), and an NCC Member of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM). The voting here is on June 1.
The public meeting was addressed by CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav, CPI(M) Polit Bureau Member and AIKS President Dr Ashok Dhawale, Swaraj India Party leader Yogendra Yadav, VIP Party President Mukesh Sahni, SKM NCC Member Dr Sunilam, JNUSU President Dhananjay, local leaders of the CPI and Congress, and several ex-MPs, MLAs and ex-MLAs of the INDIA parties. CPI(M) State Secretariat Member Arun Kumar Mishra and State Committee Member Sattar Ansari also addressed.
All the speakers came down heavily on all aspects of the Modi-led BJP-RSS central government and the turncoat Nitish Kumar-led state government, and called for the big victory of the INDIA-CPI(ML) candidate Rajaram Singh.
Sandip Saurav filed his nomination on 9 May at Bihar Sharif for Nalanda constituency. The mass meeting here was attended by thousands of enthusiastic people, with youth in huge numbers, was an indication of Sandip Saurav’s popularity among young voters as well as resentment against the ruling BJP among people. Many eminent citizens, journalists and intellectuals attended this mass meeting.
Nomination meeting was addressed by Dipankar Bhattachray, Swaraj India’s Yogendra Yadav, JNUSU president Dhananjay, Congress MLA Nitu Singh, CPIML MLA Amarjit Kushwaha, MLA Shashi Yadav, CPI leader Nivedita Jha, CPIM leader Arun Mishra, RJD leader Uday Narayan Chaudhary and district President Ashok Himanshu and Nalanda VIP district president Dr. Satyendra Bind.
Sudama Prasad filed his nomination from Arrah amidst the presence of tens of thousands of supporters on 10 May, which is the anniversary of the first war of independence 1857. Arrah was one of the main centres of the first war of independence in 1857 where the army of freedom fighters led by Kunwar Singh had valiantly fought many battles with the British army.
Comrade Sudama Prasad paid floral tributes to the statues of Veer Kunwar Singh, Dr. Ambedkar, Subhash Chandra Bose and Jai Prakash Narayan before going for the nomination.
A massive rally was held after the nomination process at the Ramna Maidan in Arrah town which was addressed by Dipankar Bhattacharya, Ex-MP Rameshwar Prasad, ex-Union Minister Kanti Singh, RJD leader and ex-speaker of Bihar Assembly Uday Narayan Chaudhary, Yogendra Yadav of Bharat Jodo Abhiyan, Rajaram Singh, Shashi Yadav, MLAs Bhai Virendra and Ramvishun Singh Lohiya. Many other CPIML and RJD MLAs, MLA candidate from Agiaon Shivprakash Ranjan, JNU President Dhananjay, Raju Yadav, Sarvoday Sharma of CPIM, Vijay Narayan Mishra of CPI, Quayamuddin Ansari of Insaf Manch, district leaders of AAP and Congress party, VIP district president Om Prakash Bind and many Zilla Parishad members and Block Pramukhs were also present and addressed the rally.
The rally was also addressed by All India Kisan Mahasabha national leaders Prem Singh Gehlawat from Haryana and Purushottam Sharma, Anand Negi from Uttarakhand and AIARLA national secretary Rajesh Sahni.
CPIML Bihar secretary Kunal, Jan Sanskriti Manch general secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, and leaders of NCP and Shiv Sena (U) were also present. The mass meeting was presided by Birbal Yadav, RJD district president and conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru, CPIML district secretary.
Comrade Shivprakash Ranjan filed his nomination on 8 May for bye-election to the State Assembly for Agiaon, at Piro. He was accompanied by a massive procession which was led by CPIML politburo member Ravi Rai, Bihar state secretary Kunal and comrade Sudama Prasad along with thousands of youths, farmers and rural workers. Many RJD and other INDIA alliance leaders, cadres and supporters joined comrade Shivprakash with their flags and banners.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on 15 May and polling will be held in the last phase on June 1 on all these seats.
