The Youth Conference, organized by RYA in Koderma held at Barkattta ground in Jharkhand's Giridih, deplored that the BJP regime's 10-year rule has betrayed the youth as the country witnesses skyrocketing unemployment and unaffordable education.
Before the begining of the conference, homage was paid to a young martyred farmer, Shubhkaran Singh, who was killed in the police action against the farmers' protest at Haryana's Khanauri border.
Addressing the youth conference, CPI(ML) MLA Vinod Singh said that today all jobs are being contractualized and there is no new regular recruitment. In Koderma, the livelihood of poor workers engaged in small-scale mining such as of sand and mica have been restricted by the new mining policies of the central government aimed at benefiting the corporate sector. Many migrant labourers from Jharkhand work in various Southern Indian states, but they face severe difficulties as the central government has not started any new trains, and it's rampant privatization of railways has led to exorbitant rail fares. In 10 years, the government has not framed any effective policy for migrant workers, too.
In Koderma, the youth of the constituency are energetically standing behind the flag of CPI(ML) for the upcoming General Elections to strike a blow on BJP's anti-people policies.
RYA National President Aftab Alam said that in 10 years, Modi regime has only given false promises and sold “false dreams” to the people of the country. While the lives and livelihood of people are in peril, the Modi is busy fulfilling the dreams of his corporate cronies. The Modi government had promised 2 crore jobs every year when it came to power, but, instead of providing jobs, the regime destroyed the livelihood of millions of people with the disastrous policies like demonetization, GST, and lockdown. Today, with increasing joblessness and desperation, youth are forced to travel searching for jobs in war-torn Israel.
Jayanti Choudhary, AIPWA leader, said the BJP government wants to enslave the youth to create an army of desperate and jobless youth to keep the country at the tenterhooks of communal polarization. Modi, who has not even answered one press conference in his 10 years rule, is afraid that educated and politically aware youth will ask tough questions against the anti-people policies.
“Today we are determined to get the answer from the Modi government and will set the agenda for the 2024 elections” added Com. Jayanti.
RYA National Secretary Niraj Kumar said that in a recently organized Young India referendum, 83% of youths rejected the Modi government's performance regarding the questions of providing employment. He said more than 30 lakh posts are lying vacant in central government departments and agencies, and public enterprises, but the recruitment process has neglected in favour of entry of privatization and contractualisation.
The conference resolved to build a united and intense campaign exposing the Modi government's false promises to youths and poor.
