Expressing steadfast support to the February 16 industrial and sectoral strike and rural bandh (shutdown) call by the joint platform of Central Trade Unions and Farmers Unions (SKM), CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said that the unity of the toiling masses must deliver a historic blow to the anti-worker and anti-farmer policies of Modi government.
Corporate loot of people’s resources and livelihood and wide-spread communal polarisation have been the hallmark of 10 years of the Modi-BJP regime. The regime is hell-bent to destroy the every pillar of a democratic society in the country. The constitution and it’s principles of rights, liberty, justice, and equality are under relentless attack by these regressive forces.
Com. Dipankar added that to fight this anti-people and pro-corporate regime, CPI(ML) and all its mass organisations, including trade unions, farmers union, students, youth and women organisations and organisation of rural and agricultural labourers will hit the streets on February 16 to make this action a historic success.
