A team of Insaf Manch and CPIML visited the family of Md. Shaad, Imam of the Masjid in Gurgaon who was murdered by Bajarang Dal rioters recently. Another team went to Maniadih in Nanpur block of Sitamarhi district to meet his family. The team also went to Parbatta village in Madhubani district to meet the family of Md. Asgar who was killed by a fanatic Modi supporter RPF jawan on a train to Mumbai.
Md. Shaad was Dy. Imam in the Anzuman mosque in Sector 57 in Gurgaon for the last 8-9 months. His elder brother Shahdaab Anwar who also lives in Sector 52 of Gurgaon told the team members of his telephonic conversation with his deceased brother just half an hour before his murder. The Imam looked assured with a huge police presence outside of the mosque. Suddenly, and in presence of police, the electricity connection of the mosque was cut and an attack was made on the mosque. His brother was murdered by the mob and Khursheed Alam, who hails from Araria district, was injured.
Md. Shaad was only 22 years old. He completed his education in Chhatarpur in Delhi. He and his elder brother were only earning members in the family. The latter has returned to his village after quitting the job because of communal tension. The family is without any financial support.
No one expected any kind of help from the government in Haryana, the Bihar government too has not extended any kind of support to the family. Even the body of the deceased was transported on their own expenses. Although the minority welfare minister of Bihar has visited the family. The CPIML and Insaf Manch have demanded from Bihar government adequate compensation and job to one member of the family.
The other team visited the house of Md. Asgar in Parbatta village. The family is extremely poor and his wife lives in a mud house with five children. Asgar was living in Jaipur for the last 8-9 months selling bangles. He got a job as a Muazzin in a mosque in Mumbai, hence was in that train. The railways have provided a compensation of Rs. ten lakhs to the family, although no representative of Bihar government has bothered to meet the bereaved family.
Abhishek Kumar, member of CPIML state committee in Bihar, Neyaj Ahmad, vice president of Insaf Manch, Sitamarhi CPIML secretary Neyaz Ahmad Siddiqui, Md. Jamshed, Ranjan Prasad Singh, Lalit Kamat, Shyam Mandal, Ramratan Mandal, Dhruv Narayan Karn, Maqsood Alam, Vishambhar Kamat and Manish Mishra were in these teams.
