Turn the 11th Party Congress of CPIML

A state wide cadre convention was held in Patna on 4 December 2022 at the Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir auditorium to prepare for the forthcoming 11th party congress of CPIML to be held in Patna which will be preceded by a massive rally on 15 February 2022 at Gandhi Maidan.  The convention was addressed by the General Secretary of CPIML Dipankar Bhattacharya. Senior leaders along with district secretaries and party activists spoke in the convention.  An eight point resolution was also endorsed at the convention.

While addressing the convention Dipankar Bhattacharya said that under the Modi regime, there is an all-out attack on the democracy in our country and in the guise of 'the nation', it is the 'people of this Nation' who are being targeted.

Corporates, particularly Adani and Ambani are solidly behind the forces that are leading the biggest onslaught - the RSS and BJP.  To prop the BJP government, they are spending a lot of money and in return, the BJP is manipulating the policies of the country in their favour and the Institutions are being pressurized so that precious natural resources and public sector enterprises can be placed in the hands of these Corporates. In reality, the BJP has emerged as a catastrophe for the country.

He further added that the sequence of events that started with demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992 culminated in the infamous Gujarat massacre of 2002. CPIML was one of the first to identify this as 'communal Fascism'. We have since been resisting these forces resolutely.

In Himachal Pradesh, Modi is seeking votes in his personal name. In Gujarat, Amit Shah is reminding people of 2002 and proclaiming the establishment of 'permanent peace’.  Paresh Rawal is saying that the Gujarati people would tolerate price rise and unemployment but not a Muslim as their neighbour. He is countering price rise by spreading hate. We have to fight both price rise and hatred. The Supreme Court decision called the Babri Masjid demolition as an act of crime but now there is no talk about this. Emboldened by this, the RSS is now talking about Kashi, Mathura and other national heritages in the country and the supreme court is assisting it.

The issue of appointments in the election commission is before the Supreme Court. In the meanwhile, the services of a high ranking bureaucrat were prematurely ended and he was placed in the Election Commission.

There is no reservation in the judiciary this is also a big question. The government has another problem. It is worried with the collegium system and wants to change it so that it can control the judiciary. What we are witnessing  is an undeclared emergency which is gaining permanency. It is the wish of the people that the next 2024 election will be a fight for freedom from this state of affairs. Bihar is being closely watched by the people of the country because Bihar has shown a new way. This model of Bihar is being widely discussed within the state. People are saying that had CPIML won more number of seats, there would have been a different picture of Bihar today.

We have to convey a clear message across the country that anti-fascist forces are present in the country. We have to turn our party congress into a festival of mass movements. As there can be no festival without enthusiasm, therefore there should be enthusiasm among the party ranks. we have to create new records in the rally and party congress and for this we have to raise with full force the burning issues of the people like prices and unemployment. Demands of dignified employment, MSP guarantee and share-cropper rights should be championed. Only our party has been vocal against the reservation to forward castes.

The cadre convention was presided by ex-MP comrade Rameshwar Prasad, legislator Virendra Prasad Gupta, Naimuddin Ansari, AIPWA secretary Mina Tiwari, legislator Gopal Ravidas.  the proceedings were conducted by Dhirendra Jha . Kunal, state secretary of Bihar introduced the theme of the convention in his inaugural address.
