A conference to bring a canal and save the District was organized by the All India Kisan Mahasabha in front of the Buhana Tehsil on 24 July 2022. Addressing the conference, AIKM National Vice President Phulchand Dhewa said that after the historic farmers' movement the need of the hour is for another big movement for guarantee of MSP and a canal to bring Yamuna water to the District. AIKM National Secretary Ramchand Kulhari said that AIKM along with other farmers' organizations will organize a movement in Jhunjhunu District to bring Yamuna water via a canal as per the 5-state agreement of 1994 and for MSP of one and a half times crop input costs as per Swaminathan Commission recommendations. District President Omprakash Jharoda called on farmers to fight unitedly and strengthen the farmers' movement. The conference was also addressed by Indraj Singh Charavas, Ramkumar Yadav, Balbir Singh Sihag and other AIKM leaders.
The resolution passed at the conference for a Yamuna water canal in the District will be submitted to the Prime Minister with 1 lakh farmers' signatures after a farmers' rally in September. During the signature campaign resolutions for the canal will also be passed in Gram Panchayats. The was presided by a presidium comprising Comrades Ramkumar Yadav Khandava, Capt Liyaqat Khan Kidhwana and Ummed Singh Mann Gorir.
