On 9 May 2022 feudal forces shot dead Kashmarian (Charpokhri) resident Baijnath Prasad and his son Ajit Kumar (30) and seriously injured his nephew Prince Kumar (15). Immediately on receiving the news local CPIML MLA Manoj Manzil went to the hospital and demanded immediate action and arrest of the criminals. He said that feudal forces have perpetrated the murder of dalits because the Nitish-BJP government has emboldened criminals and boosted their morale. Such killings have become common. Baijnath Singh was an RJD activist.
Manoj Manzil demanded that the government should conduct a speedy trial, nab the criminals and give justice to the victim family. In protest against the failure of the administration to take action in this matter, CPIML and RJD organized a road block agitation to demand the immediate presence of the concerned officials on the spot. Even after hours of protest led by CPIML and RJD, the DSP failed to reach the spot. It was only after 8 hours of jamming the highway that the officials were forced to come to the spot where they announced that the killers would be arrested and a speedy trial would be conducted. They also paid the victim family a compensation of Rs 8.65 lakhs and ordered seizure of the killers' licenced arms.
The protest was led by Agiaon MLA Manoj Manzil, CPIML Charpokhri Secretary Mahesh Singh, District Committee member Tengar Ram, people's poet Nirmohi Ji, Siyadih Panchayat Mukhiya Lal Mukti Paswan and others.
