CPIML Team Visits Buxar, Venue of Latest Incident
CPIML Bihar State Secretary has said that the latest incident of spurious liquor deaths in Amsari, Buxar is extremely painful and reiterated the question, how many deaths will it take to awaken the government? It is as a result of the government's adamant refusal to take action against the liquor mafia-politician-administration nexus that spurious liquor deaths are occurring almost every day and in every District.
Immediately on receiving the news, CPIML Dumraon MLA and RYA honorary President Ajit Kumar Singh reached the spot, as did a CPIML high level enquiry team.
The Dumraon MLA and enquiry team met and spoke with the families of the deceased. The people told the team that 8 persons were found in a drunk state near the village pond, after which the series of deaths started that night. So far 5 bodies have been sent for post-mortem. 2 persons are under treatment in hospital and 1 person is missing.
The enquiry team found that the administration was trying to forcibly pick up the body of Sukhu Musahar (50) from Musahar Tola. Sharp arguments ensued when CPIML leaders, activists and the local people tried to stop the administration from picking up the body. CPIML demanded that senior District officials should be called. After that MLA Ajit Kumar spoke with the Buxar DM and the DM also reached the spot. Only after that was the body sent for the post-mortem.
The CPIML enquiry team and MLA Ajit Kumar have demanded strict action against the liquor mafia-politician-administration nexus, and Rs 5 lakhs as compensation and a government job for each of the victims' families. They said that these deaths are due to negligence by the administration, and the government and administration are responsible for them. The BJP-JDU double-engine government is protecting the liquor mafia.
The enquiry team comprised Chaugai Block Secretary Birendra Singh, RYA leader Dharmendra Yadav, media in-charge Sanjay Sharma, Dumraon Secretary Sukar Ram, Nandan Mukhiya Ramji Yadav and Rinku Qureshi.
