After causing mayhem in Nalanda just a few days ago, poisonous liquor has once again taken a ghastly toll, this time in Saran. Death due to spurious liquor has now become a common phenomenon. How many such deaths will it take to open Nitish Kumar’s eyes and awaken him?
On 19 January 2022 an enquiry team led by CPIML Darauli MLA Satyadev Ram visited both the villages and inquired into the entire whole incident. The enquiry team comprised Satyadev Ram, Ram Kumar Mahto, Brijendra Mishra and Jeevnandan Ram.
CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal expressed deep grief over the deaths due to spurious liquor in two villages in Makair and Amnaur Blocks, Saran District and said that unless the liquor mafia-politician-administration nexus under whose cover the illicit liquor trade is flourishing is investigated and action taken against them, such incidents are not going to end. But even after repeated requests, the government is not taking any action and is enabling massacres of the poor through poisonous liquor.
The CPIML enquiry has said that so far five deaths have been reported, while two other persons are undergoing treatment.

2. Mohd Isha, 50, Bungalow Vasantpur, Amnaur
3. Krishna Mahato, 55, Parmanand Chhapra, Amnaur
4. Brijbihari Ram, 55, Nandan Ketuka, Makair
5. Bharat Ram, 40, Naukadha, Makair
Suraj Baitha (50), Tara, Amnaur, and Paltan Mahto (35), Parmanand Chhapra, Amnaur are undergoing treatment.
CPIML held protests on 20 January to demand medical treatment at government expense for those admitted in hospital, action against the liquor mafia-poliitician-
MLA Satyadev Ram said that the Bihar government does not want to go into the real causes of deaths due to spurious liquor and is constantly displaying extreme irresponsibility. In the upcoming Assembly session, this government will be forced to answer questions on the deaths due to spurious liquor.
