A meeting was organized on 7 February at Prayagraj (Allahabad) to form an Arakshan Bachao Morcha (Save Reservation Forum) against the failure to give 27% OBC reservation in the Block Education Officer exam. The meeting registered protest against the consistent cuts in reservation in government jobs, denial of 27% OBC reservation in the Block Education Officer exam, and denial of reservation in teacher recruitment and other exams in the name of MRC. Arakshan Bachao Morcha member Ajay Kumar Yadav said that OBC reservation in the BEO exam has been reduced from 27% to 10% as instead of 83 out of 309 posts, only 31 have been selected. Sunil Maurya said that the UPPSC is violating the Supreme Court verdict in the Saurabh Yadav vs Uttar Pradesh case with regard to number of reservations. Sunil Yadav said that the UPPSC is acting at the behest of the government to create a dispute among the candidates and thus scuttle the entire recruitment process.
The meeting appealed to students to unite and fight against this conspiracy. An Arakshan Bacho Morcha was constituted at the meeting.
