The Bihar Rajya Vidyalaya Rasoiya Sangh Baliya Block Committee in Beguserai organized a protest at Ambedkar Park on 10 February with a charter of 11 demands.
Addressing the dharna State President Saroj Chaube hit back at Prime Minister for his recent remark and said that indeed we are 'Andolan Jeevi'; we are the inheritors of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and it is our responsibility to carry forward the workers' struggle. Pointing out the anti-worker character of the Modi and Nitish governmen
ts she said that neither the Parliament budget session nor the Bihar Assembly session spoke about workers or MNREGA. She appealed to Rasoiyas to participate in large numbers in the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha protest on 26 February for the following demands:
1. Government employee status for Rasoiyas.
2. Rs 21,000 honorarium.
3. Honorarium for 12 months instead of 10 months.
4. Repeal the 4 labour codes.
5. Pay the wages due to Rasoiyas working in quarantine centres.
6. Stop handing over the Midday Meal Scheme to NGOs.
7. Hold camps to give appointment letters to Rasoiyas.
8. EPF, ESI and Social Security Pension for Rasoiyas.
9. Stop the merger of schools.
10. Repeal the 3 farm laws.
11. Curb growing communal violence and crimes against women.
The dharna was attended by a large number of people including CPIML leaders Diwakar Prasad, Indradev Ram, Noor Alam, Laddu Lal Das and Rasoiya leaders including Sunita Devi, Babita Devi, Prema Devi, Kajuma Devi and others.
