Protesters continued their hunger strike for the second day on 3 July 2020 and burnt the effigy of the local MLA to demand construction of a pucca road from Ashok Paper Mill to Hayaghat, an over-bridge from Akraha Bridge to Inmait Dam, and repair of the Akraha Bridge approach road. The protesters raised slogans demanding answers from CM Nitish Kumar and the Hayaghat MLA.
Sitting on hunger strike are CPIML Block Secretary Vishwanath Paswan and Ghanshyam Yadav. Addressing a meeting organized at the protest site and presided over by Santosh Yadav, Block in-charge Jangi Yadav said that today is the second day of the hunger strike, but the District administration and the local representatives are silent on this matter. The flood situation remains ominous. The Hayaghat MLA does nothing except making tall claims of development, but development is missing on the ground level. Hayaghat Assembly constituency is suffering from sheer neglect. The people have now become aware of reality and this time BJP-JDU will be taught a befitting lesson.
Jangi Yadav said that if talks are not held by the evening of 3 July, the road will be blocked tomorrow as a protest.
The effigy of the Hayaghat MLA was burnt at the protest site. Present on the occasion were Ram Vilas Mandal, Nagina Devi, Manju Devi, Ashok Sahani, Mohan Sahani, Jitendra Sahani, Shambhu Yadav, Dileep Sharma, Anand Sahani, Govind Sahani, Amrit Sahani, Shyam Sahani, Raja Babu, Shobhit Sahani and others.
