Armed organized dominant caste Rajputs lethally attacked a dalit-poor Tola in Anchha village at Daudnagar, Aurangabad on 21 August 2020 with the intent of perpetrating a massacre. CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal strongly condemned the attack in which 6 persons were seriously injured and are admitted in PMCH.
Comrade Kunal said that it is clear that the morale of feudal-communal criminals across Bihar is at its peak. The Daudnagar incident is just one in the series of innumerable such incidents. A State level protest under the CPIML banner was organized on 24 August to demand immediate arrest of all the perpetrators of the Anchha incident.
A high level CPIML fact-finding team would visit Anchha on 22 August. The team comprises Politburo member Comrade Rajaram Singh, Comrade Mahanand, Comrade Anwar Husain, Comrade Jirtendra Yadav, Comrade Ravindra Yadav and Comrade Munarik Ram.
Meanwhile, a team led by Politburo member Comrade Amar would visit PMCH to meet the injured persons.
The incident at Anchha village occurred as follows. On 21 August feudal criminals suddenly started firing on the dalit-poor Tola in the village. Many people escaped by a hair’s breadth during the firing; otherwise the intention was clearly to perpetrate a large scale massacre. 6 persons were injured, of whom 5 have been referred to PMCH Patna. The names of the injured are as follows:
1. Manish alias Baba Chandravanshi—age 16 years; s/o Dinesh Chandravanshi; bullet injury in the chest.
2. Laxminiya Devi—w/o Bhola Chaudhury; age 38 years; bullet injury in the thigh
3. Soldier Chaudhury s/o Laxman Chaudhury—age 18 years.
4. Rajesh Chaudhury—age 20 years; s/o Bahadur Chaudhury; bullet injury in the temple.
5. Vikas Yadav—age 17 years; s/o Ramji Yadav; bullet injury in the back.
6. Aman Kumar—age 13 years; s/o Dinesh Chandravanshi; bullet injury in the hand.
The beginning of the Anchha village incident goes back to 14 August when a dance program was organized at the home of Gandhi Singh on the occasion of a birthday. His home is in the dalit Mohalla of the village. During the program, dominant sections from the Rajput community startd making a hue and cry. Gandhi Singh’s nephew knocked Dhiraj Paswan with his motorcycle and started fisticuffs. After that the matter subsided and cooled down.
On 19 August Mukesh Kumar (age 18 years, s/o Mahesh Sao) and Roshan Kumar (age 19 yers, s/o Lalan Sao) were returning home from the bazaar. Rajput caste boys who were playing cricket in the Mohalla suddenly attacked them and beat them up, injuring them seriously. Both boys were seriously injured but they were not allowed to go out for treatment.
The angered poor people beat up some Rajput people on 20 August. The feudal forces could not digest this and attacked the dalit Tola by firing with rifles. The Tola residents tried to oppose them but were badly injured in the indiscriminate firing.
A 3 member CPIML team went to the village on 21 August and found out the details of the incident. The team members were AIARLA District Secretary and CPIML District Committee member Rajkumar Bhagat; District Committee member Chandrama Paswan; and District Committee member Kisan leader Kamta Yadav.
A CPIML team comprising Politburo member Comrade Amar and RYA State Secretary Comrade Sudhir Kumar visited PMCH to meet the victims injured in the attack at Daudnagar in Aurangabad.
Six persons had been admitted to PMCH, of whom three have left. Three persons are still admitted, of whom two are seriously injured. One has a chest would where the bullet entered and exited; the other still has a bullet lodged in the chest. The third was nicked by a bullet in the head. CPIML organized statewide protests on 24 August 2020 against the lethal attacks on dalits and very backward sections by feudal criminals on 21 August at Anchha in Daudnagar, Aurangabad.
Politburo member and former MLA from Obara Rajaram Singh said in Patna that the days of the BJP-JDU are numbered. Dalits, poor, and very backward sections have made up their minds to teach this anti-people pro-feudal government a lesson in the coming elections. He said that there was an atmosphere of fear and terror from feudal forces in Anchha but the people gained courage when the CPIML team reached there and supported them.
A state level CPIML team comprising Rajaram Singh, Arwal District Secretary Mahanand, State Committee members Jitendra Yadav and Ravindra Yadav, and Aurangabad District Secretary Munarik visited the village to find out details of the incident.
During the protest at the Party State office, AIPWA State President Saroj Chaube, State Committee member Umesh Kumar and other leaders demanded proper medical treatment for all the injured victims. CPIML activists protested across Patna, at Ashiyana Nagar, Digha, Kankarbagh, Patna City and other places, with placards and posters.
Protests were held at many villages in Daudnagar, Aurangabad against the consistent attacks on dalits and the poor. Villagers and social activists participated in large numbers in these statewide protests. Former Daudnagar City Panchayat President Dharmendra Kumar Dabgar, Nilkothi City Secretary Birju Chaudhury, Pachkathwa leader Mahendra Chaudhury and other leaders protested at various places including Gulzarpur and Ramnagar. A meeting was organized at the sub-divisional office. Protests were held at different Panchayats and Block HQs where the anger of the common people against the feudal attacks in Anchha was evident. Janardan Singh (Tarar village), Kisan leader Kamta Yadav (Makhra), District Committee member Nagendra Kumar (Repura), Manoj Mehta (Manar) AIARLA leader Rajkumar Bhagat (Jinoria), Bamdev Singh (Beldi), Dudheshwar Mehta (Thakur Bigaha), Madan Prajapat (Babu Amona), and Slankari Devi (Sansa) led the protests. They demanded the construction of a road in Anchha from Son Canal Road to Payin Road to give access to the Basti; they also demanded two 200 kv transformers for the poor Tola, withdrawal of false cases against the poor, and medical treatment for the injured persons and Rs 10 lakhs each as compensation to all the victim families.
Nearby areas in Arwal, Jehanabad and Gaya witnessed huge participation in the protests. Various places in Bhojpur also registered protests, with effective mobilization of the poor from the Mallah community.
Protests were also organized at Motihari Chhodadano Road Narayan Chowk in Eastern Champaran, Saharsa, Patna District (Dhanrua, Fatuha, Vikram, Paliganj), Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Siwan, Gopalganj, Araria, Bhagalpur, Nawada, Vaishali and other Districts.
