THE CPIML has expressed outrage at the consistent painful deaths of migrant workers due to hellish conditions in Shramik trains which also reached late for as many as 10 days in scorching heat and without food and water. The Modi government has crossed all limits. It seems as if such conditions are deliberately being created. The country will never forgive Modi for this crime against humanity. These are not deaths; these are murders.
It cannot be a coincidence that 40 trains lost their way! This is either a huge conspiracy or the result of the worst negligence. All principles of physical distancing have been thrown to the winds. Workers have been crammed into trains like animals, without any facilities, whereas the government has made them pay fares plus surcharge. The migrant workers are suffering even greater distress than when they were trying to walk home, and many painful deaths at various places are consistently being reported. How can the workers remain alive for 9 or 10 days in scorching 45-46 degree heat without food and water?
CPIML Bihar State Secretary Kunal has said like Modi, Nitish Kumar in Bihar is also shirking his responsibilities and just making tall statements. The people of the country are watching and understanding this criminal silence on the part of Modi and Nitish.
The India Railway and Modi government did nothing, not even taking responsibility for their criminal act; social activists are providing relief materials to the workers wherever possible. CPIML has appealed to the people to help the workers with relief materials to the best of their ability, because our governments have left a large part of our own citizens to die in appalling conditions.
