LEFT and democratic parties and organizations organized a dharna in Uttarakhand on 5 May 2020 to protest against the distress being forced by the government on workers during the Lockdown.
Speaking on the occasion, CPIML State Secretary Raja Bahuguna said that Lockdown has been implemented for more than a month now, is resulting in appalling hardships for daily workers. Unfortunately, the policies of the government have endangered the lives and livelihoods of toiling masses but the policies and steps taken by the government show no concern for their distress.
CPIML leaders and activists including Raja Bahuguna, Bahadur Singh Jangi, Dr Kailash Pandey, Anand Singh Negi, Lalit Matiyali and Vimala Rauthan participated in the dharna from their homes.
A memorandum signed by leaders of Left and democratic parties and organizations was sent to the Prime Minister through Email. The signatories included leaders from CPIML, CPI, CPM, Uttarakhand Lokvahini, Uttarakhand Parivartan Party, Krantikari Lok Adhikar Sangathan, Uttarakhand Mahila Manch, Ambedkar Mission, Uttarakhand People’s Forum, and Jan Adhikar Manch.
