DUE to the Lockdown implemented without proper planning and preparation, along with the common people workers engaged in essential services are facing a lot of difficulties. As per directives issued by the Central and State governments for prevention and treatment, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, school Rasoiyas and other Scheme Workers are putting their lives on the line in order to stand with the government and work for this.
All India Scheme Workers Federation (affiliated to AICCTU) asked the government to address the following issues of Scheme Workers engaged in the ‘Prevent Corona’ campaign in Bihar and other states:
- Availability of PPE to all scheme workers should be ensured.
- The health workers are facing harassment/violence. This must be stopped at once and all scheme workers must be given proper security.
- All scheme workers should immediately be paid a minimum of 3 months’ salary/ honorarium/ incentive as advance payment.
- Free Life Insurance of Rs 50 lakhs and Health Insurance of Rs 10 lakhs should be announced for all scheme workers engaged in Prevention of Corona work.
- Steps should be taken without delay on pending demands of scheme workers, such as giving them government employee status, equal pay at par with government employees, etc.
