Protests Across the Country against CAA-NRC-NPR

FORMER JNUSU President Geeta Kumari and Comrade Chanda Yadav from Jamia addressed the Anti-CAA-NRC-NPR protest at Shrirampur in Ahmednagar District, Maharashtra on 25 January.

On 28 January students blocked the road and did not allow the Governor to enter the annual Convocation ceremony of Darbhanga University. AISA National Vice President Kawalpreet Kaur and State President Mokhtar addressed the huge mass meeting. An indefinite dharna was organized at Kabirpur in Nathnagar addressed by CPIML District Secretary Bindeshwari Mandal. This dharna has been ongoing for 20 days and is witnessing huge numbers of people in the evenings. A mass meeting was also organized at Deura-Vandhauli in Jale Block, Darbhanga. Dharnas are ongoing at Mander in Khagaria and Piro in Bhojpur.

A dharna was organized by many organizations including CPIML at Mansa in Punjab on 25 January against CAA-NRC-NPR. The meeting at the Shaheed Sewa Singh Thikariwala Chowk was addressed by leaders including Rajvinder Singh Rana, Sukhdarshan Singh Natt, Gurusewak Singh, Sukhbir Kara, Kewal Singh.

Meetings and dharnas were also held at Tenali in Andhra Pradesh, Gunupur Rayagada in Odisha, Bokaro, Amraiwadi in Ahmedabad.

In Delhi, CPIML leader Sucheta De addressed the protest dharna at Hauzrani in South Delhi, while another dharna has been started at Mandawali by the local residents which was addressed by JNUSU General Secretary Satish Yadav and CPIML’s Shyamkishore Yadav. The protests at Shaheen Bagh, Inderlok, Seelampur and other places in the national capital are witnessing increased participation of people each day defying BJP’s deliberate attempts of communalizing demonizing the peaceful protests and threats being given through election speeches by the ruling party leaders.
