IN Aurangabad, the Bhil adivasi community is a backward community whose lives are always overshadowed by fear of the police who often slap false cases of theft and robbery on them. This is a community dependent on daily wages. On 10 November 2019 hundreds of Bhil adivasis gathered in Sharnapur (11 km from Aurangabad) led by Comrade Buddhinath Baral (popularly known as Anna) to found the Veer Ekalavya Adivasi Bhil Yuva Sangathana. Present at the foundation conference were Sachin Kamble, Advocate Kishore Nade, Nitin Khallare from Aurangabad and Shyam Gohil from Mumbai. Bhimrao Mali and Khandu More were elected President and Secretary respectively in this conference.
CPIML observed Birsa Munda Jayanti on 15 November 2019 at Pach Marg in Boisar village, Palghar District. Adivasis from Dabhon, Vanai, Jambla Para, Mere Para, Nava Para, Bhendval and Adivasi Para in Palghar District participated in the program. The meeting was addressed by Shyam Gohil, Dhiraj Rathore, Ashok Tandel, Ramdas, Leela, Rupali, Kisan Dubla and Jaywant. The speakers said that Birsa’s dream remains unfulfilled, and we must work towards fulfilling it. They stressed the need for strengthening the struggle for land, as the Modi government is snatching away lands not only in their area but all across India and handing it over to corporate houses. They also pledged to intensify the struggle which is the only road open to fight for the right to education and employment.
