THE All West Bengal State Transport Sangrami Sramik Karmachari Union and Bengal Chatkal Mazdoor Forum organized a protest demonstration on October 19 in support of the striking State transport workers' of Telengana.
Union activists gathered at the crowded Moulali Junction in Kolkata, burnt an effigy of the CM of Telengana, shouted slogans condemning the dismissal of 48,000 workers', demanded reinstatement of all the workers' forthwith, and asked for a negotiated settlement with the struggling workers.
AICCTU leaders Basudeb Bose, Dibakar Bhattacharyjee, Atanu Chakravarty, and Raju Das of Transport workers union addressed the gathering.
