AISA candidate Ankit Uchholi won the post of University Representative (UR) in the HNB Garhwal University, Srinagar (Garhwal) Student Union elections. Last year Ankit Uchholi had been elected Vice President and discharged the responsibilities of President after the Presidential election was invalidated. During that period students’ issues were consistently raised under the leadership of Ankit Uchholi and AISA National Executive member Atul Sati, for which he was slapped with false cases as well as a case in the High Court against him. The present victory of Ankit Uchholi is a victory for the students’ struggles which he had led throughout the past year.
Winning elections in the Srinagar (Garhwal) student elections for two years in succession is an achievement in the history of AISA. Congratulations to AISA activists and all the students of Garhwal University for carrying forward the politics of student struggles.
