Jharkhand: CPIML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya flagged off the Koderma Lok Sabha constituency level student-youth Parivartan Yatra organized by AISA and RYA at Sariya in Giridih District on 23 March 2019 to mark the martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru. The Yatra, which started on 23 March, will continued till 31 March. During this period more than 50 Nukkad (street corner) meetings were organized. The Yatra began at Sariya with the garlanding of Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s statue. Also present on the occasion were former Bagodar MLA Vinod Singh, Polit Bureau member V Shankar, and District Secretary Manoj Bhakt. The Yatra was led by RYA National Secretary Sandeep Jaiswal, District President Santosh Kumar, District Vice President Sonu Pandey and others.
At Garhwa, a march was organized from the Girls’ High School grounds to Ranka More, the portrait of Bhagat Singh was garlanded, a minute’s silence was observed in honour of the martyrs, and a pledge taken to fulfill their dreams. Addressing the Sankalp Sabha at Ranka More, District Secretary Kalicharan Mehta said that given today’s conditions the need of the hour is to take Bhagat Singh and his comrades’ idea of total revolution amongst the people. Bhagat Singh, our country’s priceless heritage, wanted to end feudalism and imperialism and bring about the rule of workers and farmers. The meeting, presided over and conducted by Sushma Mehta, was also addressed by comrades Virendra Chaudhury, Satyendra Mehta, Suryadev Chaudhury, Khurshid Ansari, Maqbool Ansari and others.
The martyrdom day on 23 March was also observed at Chirkunda and Nirsa with garlanding and tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru.
Bihar: Marches and meetings were also held across Bihar to mark the martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru. Contract workers under the banner of unorganized workers’ association Asangathit Kamgaar Mahasangh affiliated to AICCTU organized a Sankalp Sabha at the main gate of AIIMS in Patna while hundreds of Nalanda Biscuit Company workers held a Sankalp Sabha at their factory gates.
The programs at AIIMS and Nalanda Biscuit Company were led by AICCTU State Secretary Ranvijay Kumar, AIIMS Asangathit Kamgaar Mahasangh General Secretary Dev Ishwar Prasad, Nalanda Biscuit Company Mazdoor Union General Secretary Ramjeet Prasad, Secretary comrades Suryadev Prasad, Vinay Kumar and Bhagat Kumar. After a minute’s silence to honour the martyrs, the meeting was addressed by Ranvijay Kumar who said that Bhagat Singh’s ideas are more relevant than ever today. He was a great revolutionary who had a vision for building a new society and a new India and fought to realize this vision. He is respected alike in India and Pakistan even today. Today India is being used as a laboratory by communal-fascist forces for capitalist-imperialist loot and this can be defeated only by following the ideology of Bhagat Singh and his comrades.
A march was organized by CPIML and AICCTU in Patna from Ashok Nagar to Kankadbagh Tempo Stand where a meeting was held. Hundreds of local people and construction workers participated in the march and meeting.
